Background of SEP at a glance. Improving environmental sustainability and climate resilience has become a rising topic for sustaining any economic progress. According to yale’s 2016 Environmental Performance Index, out of 180 countries, Bangladesh ranked 173. It has been globally reported that Bangladesh is in the sharp risk zone due to the impacts of climate change and ranked in the top. On the other hand, most Bangladeshi microenterprises do not care about environmental sustainability while doing their business. By this time, Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP) was introduced by the Palli karma Sohayak Foundation (PKSF). The World Bank finances the project to support agribusiness and manufacturing clusters microenterprises. Primarily is focusing on environmentally stressed areas and vulnerable to climate change and natural disasters. Also, the project helps small microenterprises by removing economic barriers and building the bounce-back capacity after inevitable climatic shocks..
