[Audio] Police Regional Training Center 10 takes its root way back in 1967 upon the promulgation of Republic Act 4864 otherwise known as Police Act of 1966 which authorized the Police Commission (POLCOM) to organize and develop police training programs and operates police academies. In order to accommodate police trainings in Northern Mindanao. P-M-A-J manuel R fonda and then Assistant Commissioner Constantino Tavanlar made possible the allocation of 6 742 square meter a parcel of land spared by 4th Infantry Philippine Army through its Division Commander Col Alcid PA in 1967. It is located at 6th Division Patag Cagayan de Oro City along the old Cagayan-Iligan Highway. The construction of the then polcom Northern Mindanao Police Academy commenced in 1967 and was completed in 1969. The structure was inaugurated on January 23 1969. Training classes for Chiefs of Police and Board of Investigators were conducted while the construction was going on. The first batch of Police Basic Recruit Course opened on February 05 1969 composing of 109 participants from the different police units in Mindanao. Sometime in 1975 the operational and administrative control and supervision of the North Mindanao Police Academy (N-M-P-A-) was then transferred to the Integrated National Police and a year after the N-M-P-A was renamed as 10th Regional Police Training Center (10th R-P-T-C-) and subsequently renamed to Integrated National Police Training Center 10 (INPTC 10) and Philippine National Police Training Center 10 (PNPTC 10)..
