[Audio] CHINOOOK SALMON Oncorhynchus tshawytscha Also known as the King salmon. The chinook salmon is the largest salmon in the Pacific. Chinook salmon can grow up to 4.9 feet long and weigh over 100 pounds!.

[Audio] Where can you find Chinook Salmon? Chinook salmon are native to the North Pacific Ocean and are found in regions such as Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California. They can be found in freshwater creeks, rivers, hatcheries, and the ocean. I have personally observed the Chinook salmon in the Willapa River, Washington State..

[Audio] What is the importance of Chinook salmon to me? When I was younger my dad would take my cousins and I fishing out on the Willapa River. These were always memorable times and such amazing organisms to learn about. This species is also endangered now. I hope making presentations about the Chinook salmon can raise awareness to this issue..
