Maximum Intended Load: The total of all persons, equipment, tools, materials, transmitted loads, and other loads reasonably anticipated to be applied to a scaffold or scaffold component at any one time. A minimum of 12” overlap should always be used and each abutted end must be placed on a separate support surface. When making a direction change the platform at an angle other than a right angle should be laid first followed by the platform at right angles over the same bearer. To protect our workers the organization must observe certain safety requirements when constructing a Platform. The platform must include one plank propped up by a window sill allowing for no more than 1'' hole between adjacent parts and the platform and uprights. Platforms and walkways should encompass an 18'' width with ladder jacks top plate bracket roof bracket and pump jack scaffolds at least 12'' wide. Meanwhile guardrails and/or personal falls arrest systems must be used for platforms and walkways below 18'' wide. Platforms need to be fully planked and decked 9-1/2'' at its widest opening..
