Learning Activity. 1. Why do you think is PE included in the curriculum?.
“ The state shall promote physical education and encourage sports programs, league competitions and amateur sports, including training for international competitions to foster self- discipline, teamwork and excellence for the development of a healthy and alert citizenry . “All educational institutions shall undertake regular sports activities throughout the country in cooperation with athletic clubs and other sectors .”.
Physical education is included in the curriculum for the major goal of it. FITNESS is the ability to live a healthy, satisfying, and useful life. Another ultimate goal, “GOOD LIFE” means that an individual satisfies his basic needs as physical well-being, love, attention, security and self-respect. Not just that but to have development in the four aspects as a healthy being human being in physical, mental, social, and emotional health ..
In attaining the goals of physical education I must continue engaging myself in recreational activities and if I can avoid any sedentary activities that don’t contribute in my growth as a being. I must continue participating in a developmental program of physical activities that are healthful, intellectually invigorating, morally uplifting, socially significant, culturally enhancing and environmentally oriented. Through this I can say that I can attain the said goals of engaging physical education..
3. How does PE develop the four aspects of your being?.
Physical Development - through the carefully selected physical education activities, an individual who participates actively will develop and maintain good health and a high level of physical fitness. The acquisition of physical skills can motivate an individual to participate further in physical activities; hence, his growth and development will be enhanced ..
Social Development - participation in the physical education activities provides opportunities for the development of desirable social traits needed for adjustment to the social life in general. Some of the worthwhile traits are: friendliness, cooperation, respect for the rights of others, good sportsmanship, good leadership and followership, and honesty in group competition ..
Emotional Development - the informal nature of physical education activities offers opportunities for self-expression and emotional mastery. Examples of worthwhile emotional traits are: self-confidence, self-control, self-reliance, courage and determination ..
Mental Development - through participation in Physical Education activities, the individual develops his mental capacities as he learns the mechanical principle underlying movement, as he requires knowledge and understanding of rules and strategies of games and sports, and as he discovers ways of improving his movements in gymnastics and dance ..
I’m going to apply physical education in the field of my specialization through integrating it on my daily task or in short through doing it. Maybe I can say that in my field it’s not always we’re in our workplace so maybe free time or short of time will do to have recreational activities or engage in any physical activities maybe through going with fitness coach via online platforms, or manually perform it as long as you can do it you yourself the activity you want to perform. So on this we can apply or there’s no excuse of us to not perform physical education because it has an important role in molding the four aspects as a being..
Thank You for Watching!.
