KUHS senate elections are here.. should I vote? And why?

Yes It’s the responsibility of every medical college teacher to help in the upliftment of academic standards of medical education…. We need a strong voice there to air our ideas and concerns…both of students and teachers…

The candidates should be honest, sincere and trustworthy…. They should be representing an association which historically stood for justice and egalitarianism….

So….it comes down to KGPMTA  candidates..why ?

Let us go back to history….it says it all When was the division started?….who was behind it?  In 2009 pay revision ,medical teachers, who entered service with post graduation were given a different pay and promotion criterion which was discriminatory, unjust, illegal and hugely in favor of in service candidates , as proposed by the then omnipotent and “ united”association … KGPMTA was born out from this frustration and deceit….who brought the division then?

Scene 4

In 2016 pay revision KGPMTA proposed level 12 for all assistant professors…. The other association insisted on level 11 for entry cadre assistant professors…. Only if they stood united in this proposal ,the fate entry cadre asst professors facing now could have been avoided…. And you know how we had to forfeit our strike…

Scene 5

Succeeded in availing PG increment which was left ignored until 2015 Succeeded in making the entry cadre as assistant professors(other association still advocates for lecturers)  As per KGPMTAs proposal additional professor will be now called CAP professor Legal battle for reinstating our seniority is on the verge of victory… Battle for justice and equality ensues….

Scene 6

They stood firm They fought for what is just and right They defied all the odds  Till their legs were pulled….. The battle is still there to fight and win …it may take a while…but the last laugh will be ours…. So ….for what do we wait now….. Just get the ballot and vote for KGPMTA candidates..
