Scene 8 (2m 34s)

[Audio] By looking at the given pictures how does kinship begin? Kinship is a network of relatives within which an individual possesses certain mutual rights and obligations. Kinship is define either by consanguinity (kinship through bloodline) or affinal ( kinship formed out of marriage or ritual). Forming a Household which is the basic residential unit of society where economic production, consumption, inheritance, child rearing and shelter are organized and carried out. Now, can you tell what is the relationship between kinship and family? A group of people who are closely related to one another (by blood, marriage or adoption); kin; for example, a set of parents and their children; an immediate family..

Neolocal – when married couple finds their own house, independent from all family members or Nuclear family – a family consisting of a married man and woman and their biological children 4. Ambilocal – either patrilocal or matrilocal residence later will inherit everything from. 5. Extended family – family members may be in addition to child's parents or instead of the child's parents..

Scene 12 (12m 43s)

[Audio] The fifth group of kinship is what we called the Other family set-ups 1. Single-parent families – family unit with one parent with one or more children. 2. Divorce, Annulment and Legal Separation Let's differentiate Divorce from annulment and legal separation Divorce – court decree that terminates or dissolves a marriage.
