Scene 2 (13s)

PITCH DECK. 2.

Scene 3 (1m 6s)

[Audio] Information System Information systems often incorporate computers to help manage data and achieve business objectives, they do not necessarily have to include computers. Information gathered from mastersindatascience.org.

Scene 4 (1m 23s)

[Audio] This is an example of information system.

Scene 5 (1m 33s)

[Audio] Computers What is a computer? A computer is a programmable electronic device that processes data, following a set of instructions (programs) to produce information for output or storage. How does it work? An electronic device uses tiny electronic currents, flowing through circuits, to perform its operations..

Scene 6 (1m 58s)

[Audio] A preview of how it works. Computer Components.

Scene 7 (2m 10s)

[image] Robot hand and human hand almost touch with their pointer fingers.

Scene 8 (2m 18s)

[Audio] Seven Basic Steps of a Computer System The instructions are received through the input devices and temporarily stored in the Memory unit. The CU then fetches the instructions from the MU. The CU then decodes the instruction. The CU now fetches the data required by the instruction from memory. The CU then sends the data and instructions to the ALU for processing. The information is then sent back to CU which sends it back to MU after processing The MU then sends the information to an Output Device or Secondary Storage..

[Audio] Types of Computers Personal Computers (PCs) Sometimes called microcomputers, these are the most common types of computers and can come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. They are designed for a single user to fit on an office desk, which lead to the more popular name, Desktop. Laptops A laptop is a portable version of a PC, equipped with an LCD screen and only weighing about 1 to 4kg. Minicomputers These are outdated and rarely used today. They had the capability between a PC and a mainframe frame computer and were commonly used in small manufacturing plants, research labs or businesses. They are design to simultaneously handle the processes of multiple users..

Scene 10 (3m 50s)

[Audio] Mainframes These are very powerful, very expensive computers which offer faster processing speeds and greater storage capacities than a mini. It can handle thousand of users at the same time. They can be found in large businesses like banks, insurance companies etc. Supercomputers (monsters) The Fugaku is the World's fastest Supercomputer in 2021. It is scheduled to be in full use as of April, to help with the pandemic COVID-19. Supercomputers are used by scientific organizations to performing life like simulations and processing complex scientific applications. They can cost millions of dollars..

Scene 11 (4m 36s)

[Audio] Tablet PC A tablet, or tablet PC, is a portable computer that uses a touchscreen as its primary input device. Most tablets are slightly smaller and weigh less than the average laptop. Electronic organizers and palmtop computers PDA, in full personal digital assistant, a handheld organizer used to store contact information, manage calendars, communicate by e-mail, and handle documents and spreadsheets, usually in communication with the user's personal computer. Embedded computers An embedded computer is a microprocessor-based system, specially designed to perform a specific function and belong to a larger system. It comes with a combination of hardware and software to achieve a unique task and withstand different conditions Smartphones a mobile phone that performs many of the functions of a computer, typically having a touchscreen interface, internet access, and an operating system capable of running downloaded apps..

[Audio] The Internet The internet is a network of networks that connects computers worldwide via a huge set of telecommunications links. The individual networks may be owned by public or private entities. Being a part of the network means you can access, share and exchange information.

Scene 16 (6m 31s)

[Audio] HISTORY of the internet The internet began as Arpanet (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), it was a US Department of Defense project to create a nation wide computer network that could withstand and survive wars and natural disasters. The Network was decentralized and originally 4 supercomputers. In 1983 Arpanet was split into two parts; MILnet for military use and Arpanet for Research and development. In 1986, NSFNET (National Science Foundation Network) was born after the success of networking and computer technology. Using 5 supercomputers, NSFNET replaced Arpanet connecting more devices on a regional level. In 1992, the US government started to withdraw from network management and commercial entities began offering internet to the public..

Scene 17 (7m 29s)

[Audio] Does the internet have an owner? The simple answer is no, it does not. There is no central authority for the internet. There are organizations which develop the technical aspects of network and set standards for creating applications on it, but no one governing body is in control. The internet therefore has very little rules and answers to no one. It consists of independently maintained an administered networks. The backbone on which the internet traffic flows, is owned by private companies..

Scene 21 (9m 17s)

[Audio] How Has the Internet Impacted Businesses? Ability to Communicate : Email and instant messaging have changed the face of business communication when the internet yield new communication tools. Some of these tools are : Phones, computers etc. Telecommuting : Many businesses are offering their employees to work from home using office equipment provided by the company. One of these equipment are telephones. Marketing to a Wider Area : Surveys, questionnaires, feedback forms and comments on a website can be used to monitor a business' customers' needs. It's no longer localized but worldwide via the internet. Using the Internet for Research : Businesses use the Internet to research new product ideas, new methods of creating products and pricing information. A business can also research the competition to see what products and services are offered. Also can compete with other businesses through pricing etc..

Scene 22 (10m 28s)

[Audio] Storage : Data is stored electronically now, making it easier for retrieval when the information is needed. One of these storages are cloud storage. Cybersecurity : Cybersecurity protects information like virtual storage system and cloud storage from hackers, competitors and others trying to damage the company. Mobile Technology : It has truly become easier to take your work anywhere. If you don't have a laptop or pad at your disposal, it is now possible to use your phone to complete your work. Technology ahs impact business drastically and as technology advance, so will the world of business. This information was source from Small business – Chron.com, herzing.edu.
