[Audio] Greetings, K1 parents! I am Teacher Dina and it is time for our 2022 parent orientation for K1 Ruby!.
[Audio] So these are the contents that we will be going through with all of you today!.
[Audio] PCF Sparkletots is Singapore's largest preschool operator, offering quality and affordable preschool education. Over the years, we have launched several initiatives to raise the quality of preschool education. These include offering a diverse range of learning programmes, improving the curriculum and facilities, and providing continual professional development opportunities to all our staff..
[Audio] We aim to nurture confident and creative learners with a caring heart. And it is our mission to provide quality learning to nurture children holistically..
[Audio] Our core values are.... raciousness. espect.
[Audio] Next, let's move on to our centre' achievements!.
[Audio] Our centre has attained SPARKS ceritification in July 2020 and it will be valid till June 2026. We have also attained the ECDA licensing for 36 months from June 2021 as shown in the pictures..
[Audio] Not only that, we have also attained the Singapore Kopsia Award by Singapore Environment Council as well as the Start Small Dream Big Certificate of participation for 2020..
[Audio] Now, we will move on to introducing our team in the centre..
[Audio] These are our leaders in the centre. We have....
[Audio] Moving on to our Teaching Team, we have....
[Audio] And lastly, we have our support team, which are .....
[Audio] Next, let's talk about preparing your child for preschool..
[Audio] As they embark in the new setting for the new year, the children might experience these feelings at the start. For example, some children may experience separation anxiety. Separation anxiety in children refers to the experience of fear about being apart from parents or guardians. It is very common among young children..
[Audio] Our teachers will try to know your child quickly and establish a good relationship with him/her. To facilitate this, our preschool has given you a form "About My child". Alternatively, you may approach our teachers to share information about your child via phone/ PEP..
[Audio] Teachers make every effort to help each child become a part of the classroom, and parents are always the key people in the transition from home to school. What YOU can do! YOU must be prepared too! - Do not be upset by your child's separation anxiety. Think positive - Give your child the confidence and assurance that he/she is ready for school. Sound positive – Get your child excited about making new friends and learning new things. Talk to us –We believe in building strong connection and partnership between you and us! Give time to our teachers to bond with your child - Encourage your child to attend school each day, even if he/she seems upset or cries..
[Audio] If you feel uncomfortable about separation experiences or issues, be it for yourselves or your child, do approach us teachers so that we can work together in developing useful strategies. As we work together, hopefully it will ease the transition at the end of the day. And please don't feel embarrassed if your child seems unhappy when you arrive. Most young children experience a range of feelings, for example: when reuniting with their parent in the evening, some children display sadness or anger . Some children seem to handle the beginning of their school experience with ease and later have difficulty in entering the classroom and letting their parents leave. And these are normal situations that you might face. But not to worry, we will work together in helping your children transit into K1 with ease..
[Audio] CP should try to discourage K1 or K2 parents to accompany child/ children during settling in..
[Audio] Now, let's move on to our english curriculum..
Our Preschool programme focuses on guiding the children with intention, towards a positive start for formal schooling..
Children are encouraged to explore topical issues, inquire, communicate their ideas and apply their learning in practical contexts..
Children develop an appreciation, respect, and love for diversity in world through learning and interacting with the environment and people around them as activities and experiences move them beyond the classroom..
Through carefully crafted activities, we motivate children with the desire to learn as they gain a greater awareness of their significance as a contributing member of the community..
Audio Recording 3 Jan 2022 at 5:02:52 PM. S-T-E-M-I-E Approach Our Centre will be incorporating the S-T-E-M-I-E approach in our curriculum for 2022. This learning approach will allow children the opportunity to use their knowledge and creativity to solve real world problems in an innovative way..
