Islam in America. Islam has been America since the 16 th century with Spanish explorers who where Muslim 15 percent of African that where enslaved where Muslim and were forced to convert to Christianity Many black African American during Segregation became Muslim joining the Nation of Islam for their Pro black advancement movement After 9/11 even though Middle Eastern people and Muslims had been living America for many years peacefully had been persecuted and blamed There are may communities around America that are Muslims only with many new immigrants moving there everyday.
