We will start with the basic  materials . You will learn here what  semiconductors  are and what  are  their main  properties . 	Then, we will explain how these properties are “programmed” to produce the  p- and n-type   semiconductors.

Scene 3

We will talk about the structure making a component to be electronic: the p-n junction.  	We will explain the  capacitances  which are inherent to the p-n junction.

Scene 4

The simplest electronic component is the  diode . We will describe its behaviour and its applications.

Scene 5

Next we will explain what analogue and digital electronics means. For physical realization of both one uses  transistors . 	We will pay much of our attention to the Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor ( MOS ) transistor .

Scene 6

A lternatives   such as  - Bipolar Junction Transistors ( BJT ) - Junction Field Effect Transistors ( JFET ) - High-Electron-Mobility Transistor  ( HEMT ) - and several others  will be described , too.

Scene 7

The fundamentals of  electronic systems  will be introduced. 	 	All these will serve as an introduction to the next course which is “ Basic electronic circuits and signal amplification ”
