[Audio] INTRODUCTION In accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act ( RA) No. 7722, otherwise known as " Higher Education Act of 1994", by virtue of Commission on Higher Education ( CHED) Resolution No. R389- 99 dated November 11, 1999 and in view of the need to safeguard the integrity, quality and systematic implementation of international linkages and twinning programs between international and Philippine higher education institutions, the ensuing Policies and the accompanying implementing Guidelines for International linkages and Twinning Programs, are hereby implemented in the Philippine educational system. It is the Policy of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to internationalize higher education in the country in order to facilitate the development of human resource base that will be responsive to the demands of the 21st. century..

[Audio] With RTU's vision to be a leading technology-driven university responsive to the development needs of changing societies, it established International Linkages and Extension Affairs Center ( ILEAC) to create a relationship with both international and local partners to realize this mission. This office will be responsible in strengthening the institution's international and external affairs such as establishing good working relationship with international organizations and educational institutions in other countries particularly in technological universities and organizations, and determine the possible faculty and student exchanges, international scholarships, cultural programs, and program dissemination, sharing of experiences and expertise and other activities that may enhance the university's international networks..

[Audio] The goal of ILEAC is for the University to have a well-balanced international caliber education, and such can be achieved through: Strengthening and focusing more on the exchange and linkages services between RTU and other universities across the globe. Joint-research and faculty exchange programs Cultural and educational programs for international students Support for the various international conferences and activities held at RTU. Promote internationalization of higher education..

[Audio] ILEAC established 43 international linkages including 2 local linkages within the period 2016- 2019..

[Audio] Well Defined Objectives The Instrumentation and Control Engineering program is a four-year degree program of the Rizal Technological University. The graduates of the program are equipped with the knowledge and skills from the fundamentals up to the most updated technologies. One can find graduates of the Department working locally and abroad designing, constructing operating numerous industrial and commercial plants for the purpose of: meeting standards and client needs; securing safety of facilities and personnel; complying with environmental regulations; maintaining products at specification and acceptable rate; and, operating plants economically at stable condition..

[Audio] The BSICE Program Objectives Within the five years after graduation, the graduates of Instrumentation and Engineering program shall have the abilities to: Design, develop and commission engineering system and devices that will address global, economic, technology and societal and environmental concerns Lead and engage work groups and extension services to employ sound engineering and managerial approaches; and, 3. Pursue independent and life-long learning activities through training and conduct of engineering researches..

[Audio] ADEQUATE AND RELEVANT PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES TO ACHIEVE OBJECTIVES The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering under the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology ( CEAT) of Rizal Technological University has been into a continuous partnership with: - Emerson -Fluor Philippines Inc -Philippine Instrumentation and Control Society -Wadhani Foundation.

[Audio] Students are able to visit Emerson office for trainings and seminars.

[Audio] During the pandemic, onsite visiting was changed to online seminar.

[Audio] Plaque and Certificates were given to Emerson as a sign of our appreciation..

[Audio] Rizal Technological University, Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering professors were invited to PICS to present topics in a seminar. Engineer Orlando and Engineer Victor were chosen as trainors.

[Audio] SYSTEMATIC AND EFFECTIVE PROCEDURES In order for RTU to promote harmonious relationship with other institutions as part of RTU's linkages, the International Linkages and External Affairs Center ( ILEAC) has developed several Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP) that concerns: -EDUCATIONAL TOURS AND CULTURAL EXCHANGES ( Inbound and Outbound) -INCOMING STUDENT EXCHANGES -INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS -JOINT RESEARCHES -FACULTY EXCHANGES -OUTGOING STUDENT EXCHANGES -ENROLLED INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS.

[Audio] Provision of Materials The operation of Linkages is more effective with the availability of materials and resources. The ILEAC has developed this Project Procurement Management Plan ( PPMP) to support their projects, programs and activities. The summary of the PPMP can be found in the link above.
