[Audio] Business Continuity Plan Why a B-C-P is needed Alcon Malaysia Business Continuity Plan covering events that could have a negative impact on normal operations: such as fire, flood, extended power outage, terrorism, and similar events. In such cases, business and service operations are unlikely to be restorable with standard management procedures. Therefore, additional preventive and reactive actions must be planned in advance to be able to cope with the situation effectively. The primary purpose of this plan is to minimize the impact on the business by ensuring that the key business processes will continue with little or no interruption. The priorities taken into account are: to protect human life to protect the health of associates to protect and preserve data, information, and intellectual property to ensure continuity of business/operations in case of major disruption to return to normal operation as soon as possible Just like this covid pandemic, we are fortunate that even before this, we have already introduced W-F-H culture, so our infrastructure is all ready and enough to support & prepare us for working from home, so there is no disruption in our daily operation, and there is no major impact to our business. We review B-C-P plan from time to time to ensure it is practical and effective. Why B-C-M is so vital B-C-M is about ensuring that all critical processes and services are still ongoing and no business interruptions occur, even in the event of a disaster like this. B-C-M aims to provide Alcon with the ability to effectively respond to threats such as natural disasters or data breaches, and protect our business interests. It is all about BC preparedness to ensure there are no, or minimal, interruptions to our business. How this affects you It is vital that everyone of us understands just how important B-C-M is at Alcon. Everyone has a vital role to play before and when an incident occurs. So know your role and be prepared!.
