[Audio] ***The Hawkes Bay Expressway is experiencing growing congestion and safety issues to Kennedy Rd and Meeanee Rd intersections. Current overbridges can't meet future traffic demand, so this project will deliver two four-span, two lane overbridges. Works include piling, structural and earthworks, lighting, and traffic management, all in compliance with safety and environmental standards. Once complete, the bridges will improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and enhance safety, supporting regional growth and aligning with NZTA's strategic objectives..

[Audio] Both bridges are located on State Highway 2, at the Meeanee Road and Kennedy Road interchange on the Hawke's Bay Expressway. During construction, expect active traffic management adjustments and restricted access to ensure safety for both workers and road users..

[Audio] Safety starts here: Enter via 194 Guppy Rd, stick to the 10pkh speed limit, reverse park, use a spotter when reversing, and STOP at the exit and check the mirror for pedestrians before entering Guppy Rd..

[Audio] When arriving at the Meeanee site, attend or read the Daily Prestart taking care to note the controls required of you, particularly the PIZ and POZ zones..

[Audio] Be sure to enter the Kennedy Road site from the east. If approaching from the west, proceed under the State Highway 50 overbridge, and make a U turn on Kennedy Road at the intersection with Ashcroft St, so you enter the site from the east..

[Audio] Standard PPE is mandatory on this site. If you don't have the required PPE, speak to a project representative before entering. Failure to comply will result in re-induction and notification to your manager..

[Audio] Brian Perry Civil has a zero-tolerance approach to drugs and alcohol. To help ensure everyone gets home safe, testing may be carried out at the following times: Pre-employment – Required before starting work on site. For subcontractors, testing costs are the subcontractor's responsibility. Random testing – Can occur at any time during the project. Post-incident testing – Required following an incident or accident as part of the investigation. For cause testing – Conducted where there is reasonable suspicion that a person may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at work. Compliance with these testing requirements is a condition of working on this project and helps maintain a safe workplace for everyone..

[Audio] All work requires an approved JSEA. JSEAs help plan work and identify risks and controls. All workers must read, understand and sign the JSEA for the work they undertake. If you have not reviewed and signed the JSEA for your work, do NOT proceed..

We can mitigate these hazards by putting controls in place such as dust suppression systems, earth bunds and soak pits.
