Jhuthika Roy. was a Classical and Bhajan (devotional) singer from India. She had sung more than 200 Hindi and more than 100 Bengali flim and modern songs, bhajans. Jhuthika Roy was born in 1920 at Amta , Howrah, Bengal. She started singing at an tender age. She sang Bhajan like “ Main To Girdhar Ke Ghar Jaun Ranaji ” , “ Ram Naam Ghana Shyam ”. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 1972 by Union Government of India. Jhuthika Roy lay down her life on 5 th February 2014 in hospital at Kolkata after a prolonged illness, aged 93..

Jagjit Singh was awarded Padma Bhusan (2003), GIMA award for best ghazal album (2012), GIMA Award for Best Devotional Album (2014). Singh turned 70. In 2011, He was due to perfom with Ghulam Ail in Mumbai but suffered a brain haemorhage on 23 September 2011. Her sister, who were already exploring a career in music, introduced her to Ameen Sayani,then the most popular radio announcer in India. Ila Arun Ila Arun is an Indian actress, TV personality and Rajasthani folk and folk-pop singer. She was born on 15 March 1954. Morni Baaga Ma Bole, Resham Ka Roomal are some of the most famous songs sang by Ila Arun. She was awarded Flimfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer, GIMA Award for Best Folk Song. She is now aged 67 years.

Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya. Kalika Prasad Bhattacharya was an Indian folk singer and researcher. He was born on 11 September 1970 and raised in Silchar , Assam. In 1999, he co-founded the band Dohar with the intent to revive the folk music tradition of Northern and Eastern Bengal. Music was an intrinsic part of Bhattacharya's life . His keen interest in music eventually inclined him towards the folk music of Bengal and northeastern India. The TV channel Zee Bangla established that Bhattacharya's genius should not only be limited to the Bengalis but should be expanded also to the people cutting across the language barrier just like Punjabi folk songs..

He promoted Bengali folk music in the program Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, and got worldwide acclamation. He received the "Sangeet Samman award” from the government of West Bengal for his unique creation and musical excellence in 2013. He received Cultural Ambassador of North East Award From Bytikram Group, Guwahati in 2013. He died in a road accident near Gurap village in Hooghly district on 7 March 2017, aged 45..
