Scene 1

Create " Gear  Part “   (A  Gear Part can be created without a Formal Doc or CAD Object .)

Lets start by opening  WindChill  -“ CommonPDM ” “Click”  anywhere on the screen to begin.

Scene 2

Select & Click on  "BROWSE“  ( LEFT VERTICAL MENU BAR)

Select & Click on the  “System Program/Project”  you are working on

A  “New Part”  Dialog Box will Pop-Up

On the  “Type”  pull-down  m enu, Select & Click on  Part

“Cage Code”  is default, select  “Use default”  for  “Configuration Module”  and  “Create  as End  Item”

All items indicated with an  * (Asterisk),  must have information added

In  this example, add  Drawing Part Number  to  “Number”  for  CommonPDM

Choose  Serial Number  for  “Default  Trace  Code”

Select ( No )  “Use Default”  for  “Gathering Part”

Select  Yes  for  “Stop Effectivity Propagation”

Leave  “Job Authorization”  and  “Phase”   blank

“Life Cycle Template” ,  “Team Template”  and  “Location”  are  Generated  for you

Select  “Use default”  ( No )   for  “Configuration Item”

Select  “use Default”  ( No )  ”  If  the parts list is to remain on the drawing  Select ( Yes )  for  “ Integral  Parts  List
