In the year 2001 Government took a Policy Decision to allow fishing vessels owners to construct or purchase new fishing vessel against replacement of old cancelled Vessel Registration Certificate (VRC) only. Financial Assistance to Mussel Culture and Oyster Farming in Goa Setting up of unit in estuarine waters: 50% subsidy limited to Rs. 25,000 per unit, maximum for 2 units. Each unit in the estuarine water will be of size 4 mtrs X 4 mtrs . Setting up of unit in open sea: 50% limited to Rs. 40,000 per unit, maximum for 2 units. Each unit in the Open sea will be of size 6 mtrs X 6 mtrs . Interest Subsidy on Loans for Agriculture and Allied Activities Loan upto Rs.5.00 lakhs and below is provided to the beneficiaries in fisheries sector..
Name of the Scheme Pattern of Assistance Financial Assistance for Purchase of Lifejackets and Lifebuoys for the Fishermen Financial Assistance to the tune of Rs. 50% would be Central Share and 25% would be State share of the cost of Lifejacket/ Lifebuoy shall be provided by the Government to the eligible fishermen, up to the cost of Rs.1,000/- per lifejacket and Rs. 1,500/- per lifebuoy. Goa Value Added Tax based subsidy on H. S. D. Oil consumed by Fishing Vessels Scheme, 2015. An amt. equivalent to the actual Value Added Tax paid shall be reimbursed to the owner of fishing vessel eligible under this Scheme as subsidy, on H.S.D. Oil consumed by fishing vessel used for the purpose of fishing on limited quota as decide by Govt. The total quota of H.S.D. Oil for the purpose of this Scheme shall be restricted to 20,000 K.L. per financial year for the entire fishing industry. Financial Assistance to take up Value Addition to Seafood The scheme will have two components: Financial assistance for construction /renovation of unit: Financial assistance will be provided as subsidy i.e. 50% subsidy of the cost of construction/ renovati on of unit limited to Rs.5.00 lakhs per unit. Financial assistance for purchase of equipments: Financial assistance will be provided as subsidy i.e. 50% subsidy of the cost limited to Rs.2.00 lakhs per unit will be provided as subsidy for purchase of the equipments.
insulated box. Name of the Scheme Pattern of Assistance Supply of Insulated Boxes Fishermen engaged in selling and marketing of fish will be eligible for 1 insulated box of 50 litres capacity. The fishermen engaged in fishing at sea with canoe shall be eligible for 1 insulated box of 100 lts . capacity and 1 insulated box of 220 litres capacity. The fishermen engaged in fishing at sea with mechanized fishing vessel upto 6 cylinder engine shall be eligible for 1 insulated box of 220 litres capacity and 1 insulated box of 400 lts . capacity. Construction of Fish Market The scheme provides the financial assistance by way of subsidy as below: 1. Panchayat/ Municipality having annual income upto Rs. 2.00 Lakh , grants to the tune of 100% of the estimated cost limited to Rs. 5.00 Lakh . 2. Panchayat/ Municipality having annual income above Rs. 2.00 Lakh , grants to the tune of 75% of the estimated cost limited to Rs. 5.00 Lakh . Group accident insurance scheme The scheme provides insurance cover for fisher towards accidental death. For the purpose of insurance, 'fishers' will also mean to include fishworkers , fish farmers and any other category of persons directly involved in fishing and fisheries related allied activities. The insurance cover shall be for a period of 12 months and the premium shall be paid annually. This Scheme shall be implemented as per pattern approved by the Government of India. The entire premium amount shall be shared between the Centre and State on 60:40 basis.
