The learning strategy I will be utilizing is the “Explicitly Share the Organization of Each Lecture, Lab, or Discussion” (Ambrose et al., 2010). This strategy is appropriate to help me learn this skill because I tend to learn better when I explain it to someone else and break it down. So, by sharing this knowledge with friends, family, or my boyfriend it will help me incorporate the knowledge into my long-term memory.

The motivation theory that best aligns with me is the goal theory. The goal theories motivation strategy is appropriate to help me learn how to make  jello  shots seeing as to how I have an end goal of making these for my birthday which happens to be on Saturday. This theory is fitting because the end goal will drive my motivation to successfully complete this task, as well as getting a good grade, and new knowledge.

I hope to achieve this goal by May 6 th , 2022, which is the day before my 22nd birthday! I will know I am on track if each batch becomes more towards my preferences. I don’t particularly enjoy the tase of alcohol, so if I can get it to a consistency that works and doesn’t taste horrendous, I think that’s a pretty good milestone. Basically, my first milestone will be to get to consistency of the  jello  correct and my second will be based off taste.

I will know I am complete once I have successfully made a  jello  shot that has the right consistency, tastes good, and can get me drunk, also if I am able to replicate it. My boyfriend will provide feedback as I learn the skill and I will check in with him once each batch has been completed.

3 ounces orange gelatin mix 1 cup boiling water 1/2 cup cold water 1/2 cup whipped vodka Garnish Whipped cream Mandarin oranges

Instructions for the Orange  Creamsicle   Batch

Place Place gelatin mix in a medium mixing bowl. Add the boiling water and whisk until gelatin is completely dissolved. Add Add cold water and vodka. whisk to combine. Place Place cups on a baking sheet or platter. Pour jello into 2-ounce plastic cups until about 3/4 full. Refrigerate Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours, or until set. Put lids on cups and chill until ready to serve. Garnish Garnish shots with whipped cream and 1 Mandarin orange (so there are no orange rinds) just before serving, if desired.

6 lemons 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced 2 tbsp water 1 cup lemonade (homemade or store bought) 1 cup vodka 2 packets of unflavored gelatin (we used Knox gelatin)

Instructions for the Strawberry Lemonade Batch

Blend Blend strawberries together with the water in a food processor or blender.  Add in Add in lemonade and vodka. Warm Warm strawberry mixture in a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Once it begins to steam, whisk in the gelatin packets. Set aside. Slice Slice your lemons in half and scoop out the insides using a spoon or melon baller. Place your lemons into a muffin tin to stabilize them for the refrigerator. Pour Evenly pour the jello mixture into the empty lemon halves. Refrigerate Refrigerate for 2-3 hours, until jello is set. Slice Before serving, slice lemons in half again.

I went through all my mistakes with my boyfriend and explained in detail why those mistakes were made in the first two trials and how I fixed them. I repurchased ingredients and made specific calculations to make sure I had enough to make 100 of each  jello  shot.
