[Audio] Today, we will discuss about AAIP which is Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), formerly known as the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, AAIP invites immigrants who have the right skills and work experience to come and settle in the province.The Government of Alberta nominates individuals for permanent residence, but the federal government makes the final decision. The AAIP has several streams for individuals who are working or intend to work in Alberta, as well as for entrepreneurs interested in establishing or operating a business in the province. Eligibility differs for each stream which we will discuss in next slides.
[Audio] So,The AAIP has 3 streams namely Alberta Opportunity stream, Alberta express entry stream and Rural renewal stream for foreign workers who are living and working in Alberta, or plan to live and work here in Alberta. And AAIP also has 4 other streams namely Foreign graduate entrepreneur stream, graduate entrepreneur stream, farm stream and rural entrepreneur stream for entrepreneurs who plan to live in Alberta and buy or start a business in the province..
[Audio] But, today we will discuss about Rural Renewal Stream. This stream supports the attraction and retention of newcomers to rural Alberta through a community-driven approach that supports local economic development needs and contributes to the growth of the community. The Rural renewal stream empowers rural communities to recruit and retain foreign national to Live, Work and Settle in their communities. This stream is only for rural Alberta communities (having population less than 100,000). Communities collaborate with an Economic Development Organization, local employers, and a Settlement Providing Organization to apply to the Government of Alberta for a Community Designation. Which means Communities must be designated to participate in this stream..
[Audio] Basically, there are 6 main requirements to be eligible under Rural renewal stream and those are Residency, Endorsement letter, education, language, work experience and lastly settlement funds. We will discuss further in details about each requirement..
[Audio] Starting with Residency. So, this means you should actually living in those designated rural community. And, it doesn't include someone working virtually from remote location. Lets say, someone has work from home job from those designated rural areas and they are working from Ontario or some other place out from that designated rural community then they are not eligible under this program. You have to show your intentions to live there. Also, refugee claimants already in Canada are ineligible..
[Audio] Endorsement letter plays an important role to become eligible under rural renewal stream. At the time your application is submitted and at the time the AAIP assesses your application, you must have a valid Endorsement of Candidate letter issued by the Economic Development Organization (EDO) of your designated rural community in Alberta. The recommendation must be based on criteria established by the EDO. In addition, you must meet the AAIP Rural Renewal Stream eligibility criteria.On the next slide, we will see particulars need to be on the Endorsement Letter..

[Audio] Let's talk about education requirements. As you can see here education qualification is Minimal. Under this stream you don't need to have any Bachelor degree, only you just need a High School education. So, At the time your application is submitted, you must have completed a minimum of HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION equivalent to the Canadian education standard or a foreign degree, diploma or certificate. If you are a temporary foreign worker you must provide a copy of an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for your HIGHEST LEVEL OF EDUCATION. You do not need to provide an ECA if: you have a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate from a recognized Canadian post-secondary, technical college or secondary institution, or you have a valid Alberta Qualification Certificate or a Trade Certificate recognized by AIT. If you are an EMPP refugee you do not need to provide an ECA. If you have an ECA, submit it..
[Audio] As you can see from table, if noc code for your job is 0,1,2,3 you just need CLB score 5. Whereas, if noc code for your job is 4 or 5 then you just need CLB score 4. Like education requirement here also score of language test are also doable..

Work experience in the qualifying period must have been paid full-time employment, for a minimum of 30 hours a week. Post-Graduation Work Permit holders who have completed a two-year post-secondary education program at an IRCC designated learning institution in their designated community are not required to meet the 12 months of work experience criterion.
[Audio] Now we can talk about Settlement funds, At the time your application is submitted and at the time the AAIP assesses your application, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to support yourself and your family members to settle in your designated community if you are not residing in Canada, or you are currently in Canada but are not working. So, Only temporary foreign workers must meet settlement fund requirement. EMPP refugees do not need to meet settlement fund requirements.
[Audio] According to this chart, For example: If you have family of 3 members and you are living in community having population of more than 30,000 but less than 99,999 then you should have fund of $16,977. Funds must be unencumbered and readily available to you to meet the minimum settlement funds requirement. Real estate property, jewelry, cars and other personal assets are not eligible. The funds must be available at the time of application and assessment. You must prove to an AAIP officer that you can legally access the funds when you arrive in Alberta. You must provide official letters from any banks or financial institutions where your funds are kept..
