Introduction. Jharkhand is the land of forest. The total area of forest in Jharkhand is 23605 sq km. The total area of Pansua is 1.85 sq km in which 0.41 sq km is forest cover and 0.166 sq km is non cultivatable land..

Observation. Villagers depend mostly on forest produce for their livelihood. Cheronji is the costliest product that villagers get from Forest. Barter system is still present in the village. Mostly men are involved in collecting forest produce and women are involved in processing and market selling.
