The Signed bills of Hon’ble Judges are received from the chambers and are presented to the Pay and accounts Office(PAO) Bills are passed in PAO after the scrutiny and payments are made through ECS to individual Bank accounts/institution/company concerned..

Receiving Medical bills, either from the Former Hon’ble Chief/Judges and their family members or from the Hospitals concerned. Checking Medical bills with regard to the admissibility for reimbursement. Each bill has to be physically checked with regard to the patients, dates, medicines, admissibility or otherwise of each drug/treatment, amounts, etc. There are about 153 Retired Judges and 32 spouses and there is constant influx of bills from all of them. Preparing Essentiality Certificate for the approval of the Registered Doctor along with the application for the signature of the Former Hon’ble Chief / Judges or their family members..
[Audio] WORK FLOW MEDICAL BILLS REIMBURSEMENT Preparing medical note, indicating Judges name, treatment for whom, amount payable to Judges or the Hospital, particulars of the bills, period of the bills and total amount of the bills. If the medical bills are above Rs.5 Lakhs, the Government is addressed for sanction and issuing Government Order. Preparing proceedings, indicating Judges name, Treatment for whom, total amount of the bills, particulars of the bills along with the period and to whom, the amount is payable, either to the Hon’ble Judges or the Hospital, where the treatment was taken. [Audio] Retired Judges – Special Cell Domestic Help & Telephone Charges Telephone Charges Domestic Help A sum of Rs.50,000/- per month is being paid to the retired Chief Justices or spouses and a sum of Rs.45,000/- per month to the retired Judges or spouses, being wages for the NMRS employed in the residence of their Lordships with increase of 5% (five percent) on the amounts mentioned every year with effect from 28.05.2025. A sum of Rs.15,000/- per month to the retired Chief Justices / Judges or their spouse as the case may be, towards expenses of mobile call charges and / or landline, internet service, Secretarial service and security service with increase of 5% on the amounts mentioned every year with effect from 28.05.2025.
