[Audio] Hello and welcome to my year 8 media presentation. My name is Tahra-Leigh Warena and today I will be analysing and evaluating two two different film posters use media codes and conventions to represent ideas and show genre..

[Audio] The two film posters that I will be analysing today are two very simple styles, A Simple Favor and Wakanda Forever..

[Audio] A simple Favor is a 2018 American crime thriller film directed by Paul Feig, It is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Darcey Bell. Its stars actress Anna Kendrick as a single mother, Stephanie Smothers and accompanying her is actress Blake Lively as Stephanie's best friend, Emily Nelson. The conventions this poster contains are the film's title, one main image, four minor images and the names of the famous actresses. involved..

[Audio] This slide shows an in depth analysis of each convention of this poster. I have spoken about how the colour, imagery, scale and text are used in each convention to show meaning. I have thought about how these things show the films genre and also how they represent the themes and ideas that are within the film..

[Audio] Here I have analysed the overall layout of a simple favor poster. I drew the conclusion as to why the designer chose to place things where they were. I thought about how these choices effect hidden meaning or representations and how these choices contributed to the successful marketing on the film..

[Audio] Lastly, I evaluated the a simple favor poster. Here, I made a judgement call about how effectively the poster showed it's thriller genre, how well it showcased the film's story and how successful it may have been at advertising the movie. Overall, I came to the conclusion that it was very effective at all of these things and this was largely due to the imagery, text and colour used..

[Audio] Black Panther Wakanda Forever is a 2022 Action/Adventure film that tells the story of T'Challa, king of Wakanda, who is dying from an unspecified terminal illness which his sister Shuri believes can be cured by the "heart-shaped herb".. The poster you see here was the main poster used for advertising the film. It contains many conventions including imagery, production blurb and text..

I tried to conclude why they dedicated so much space to imagery and why they wanted the audiences eyes attracted to those features..

Here, I made a judgement call about how effectively the poster used conventions and codes to show it's action/adventure genre, storyline and advertise the film. I thought about the colours, imagery, text and layout contributed to this and came to the conclusion that the poster effectively show the action/adventure genre..
