My Father came from a farmer's family who didn't have a good financial background. So in order to educate himself he stayed far from home and started a tutorial institute part time with the help of some friends at the age of 18. He realised the importance of education for oneself at the very age of 14 years. Though others insisted on quitting studying and helping parents at home, he completed his UG and PG education and is currently working as a teacher for 30  years. This inspires me at times when I feel like I am losing my vision of the future.

I was reading about Joss  Whedon  when I read his quote    “The thing about a hero, is even when it doesn't look like there's a light at the end of the tunnel, he's going to keep digging, he's going to keep trying to do right and make up for what's gone before, just because that's who he is”   The first person who came to my mind reading this was not Avengers or Justice League Super Heroes but Papa, who fits perfectly for this description.   Since childhood he was the example for me and my brother through his hard work, honesty, determination and sense of responsibility. He has his flaws which I also genetically inherited but I still aspire to become like him, best of me.   There are so many anecdotes of him, I cannot even pick one to share for this title.  He was my hero when he stood by me, when I made decision to study miles away from home. He was my her when he pushed me to be independent and make my own place in this world. He was my hero when in my darkest time said, “ you take your time and make your decision, don’t worry I am standing next to you”   Like all the heroes who destroy so much to defeat villains to give people new morning of hopes, his scolding also act like destruction at a time but when I see bigger picture, I know it is for my benefit. Not only he is by biggest supporter, he is also my favourite storyteller, financial advisor, favourite stand-up comedian, best foodie buddy.   In the end I agree with Jim Valvano when he said “My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.”    Love you  Appa !

MY FATHERMYHERO "Life is what we make and live in it. I believe in the above quote, which I wrote as a child. My father was indeed a true inspiration to me in this endeavor. I'd like to tell you about a happening I heard from my grandmother. Several years ago, before my birth, the great Indian Air Force, led by its First in Command, His Excellency President V V Giri, made a heartbreaking announcement that my father's father had lost his precious life on the battlefield during a war ordered by the Honorable Indian Prime Minister Indra Gandhi in favour of the Bangladesh Freedom Movement. My heart wants to reveal more information about the events, but I am restrained by the need to safeguard the secrets of the incredible Indian Armed Forces and RAW. Fortunately, or unfortunately, our defence did not provide pensions at the time, but this has since changed. A young teen took the responsibility of a big family on his soldiers. Despite starving from poverty, my hero tried and continued his education. He took night shift job in an automobile industry and was the sole bread winner of the family of around ten members. His intense commitment and hard work enabled him to continue his study. Considering financial circumstances, he could not continue his higher education. That made end to his dream of becoming a Commissioned Officer in the Indian Navy..

He continued working for almost two years. He is known for his sincerity and honesty in

graduation in Commerce. After completing his graduation, he started working in the sam
company. In the meantime, the Ministry of Defence came forward in offering him a
Commissioned Service. He had gently declined, explaining that the circumstance he ad
been in should not befall his child. (Yes, it is 'Unborn me').

I believe and live by quote. My father is the first person I learned frorn. He alvvays
inspires me vvith his actions and discipline.
I had seen his collagenous and farnily rnembers giving utrnost respect to his vvords. Over
the years, he had nunnerous opportunities to depart frorn the right spirit and acquire
vvealth- He alw•ays avoided that. On rny native and our sources, just being his son
gives roe an unimaginable respect that I did not earn. Though he did gift me a villa or car,
he gifted n.e a safe and satisfactory place to live. More irnportantly, he had bestovved n.e
vvisdom and sincere respect that even n.illions cannot provide. I •wish hinn w•ell and vvill
rnake his golden years as con.fortable as possible.
I vvould like to share rny favourite rnen.ory vvith rny father. It vvas in June 2015, the JEE
Advanced results vvere out, and I unable to perish. It a long conversation in •vvhich
he n.ade realise the n.eaning of n.y existence. He also insisted that discipline and
honesty lead me the correct path. He insisted not to give up on the
