Families are a sets of individuals who are linked to one another by genetics, marriage, or choice. They share their material, emotional, and financial resources. It is a social institution in which members are bound together by mutual aims. They rely on one another for mutual assistance It is related to kinship , which is a social relationship formed by mutual ancestry, marriage or adoption..

Family Dynamics are the patterns of relating or interactions between family members. Includes family roles, hierarchies, ascribed characteristics and patterns of interaction.

Whatever family you grow up in is known as your  family of orientation . It introduces you to the world and teaches you how to function in a family.

A family that you create as an adult is known as a family of procreation. The traditional family. Most basic family arrangement. Consist of father, mother and biological or adopted children. It is society's ideal family structure to raise children..

A family that only consist of one parent (mother or father) The single parent is responsible for raising his/her child/children Single-parent Families occur due to divorce, death of one parent, break-up (Boyfriend & Girlfriend relationship), abandonment, domestic violence and rape. In terms of the changes in family structures, this is the biggest change that society has seen..

Requirements include: Living together Legal age Sound Mind Not married to anyone else Both must intend to be married. Both of you must present yourselves as a married couple to your friends and family.

Grandparent Family. Also known as grandfamilies . The child/children are raised by both grandparents or by a single grandparent. Parent of child may not be present. Occurs due to parent’s death, abandonment, unfit parents or addiction..

Domestic Violence. Domestic violence is a great challenge faced by nuclear families in The Bahamas. Domestic violence is a great challenge faced by nuclear families in The Bahamas. Domestic violence , also known as intimate partner violence, is a pattern of behavior used in any relationship to establish or retain dominance and influence over an intimate partner. Abuse is defined as physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological acts or threats against another individual. Domestic violence is not always physical, it can be emotional, economic, and sexual.

S. Smith states that during the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a higher prevalence of an increase in domestic violence in high-income households at 13.9 % when compared to middle-income and lower-income households, at 10.1 % and 10.3 %, respectively.

Infertility. Infertility is the main challenge faced by childless families. The challenges faced by blended families are the relationship between the children and newcomers. Becoming a new parent in a blended family can be stressful. When old relationships end, people may choose to move on and focus on their new partner. It can mean they stop communicating with their ex-partner..

Infertility is the main challenge faced by childless families. The challenges faced by blended families are the relationship between the children and newcomers.  Becoming a new parent in a blended family can be stressful. When old relationships end, people may choose to move on and focus on their new partner. It can mean they stop communicating with their ex-partner.

Conclusion. In conclusion, each family has its challenges. There isn't any perfect family structure. Today people are finding their ways distinctively to make it today..
