Costal erosion, water and erosion by humans

Coastal erosion is the loss or  movement of land, or the long-term removal of sediment and  rocks along the coastline due to the action of waves,  tides, wind-driven water,  waterborne ice, or other impacts of storms. It occurs when the waves wash  away the rocks on the cliffs and shores.

The four main types of river erosion are  abrasion, attrition, hydraulic action and solution.

Water erosion occurs when raindrops hit  the soil surface and displace  soil particles, and when water flowing  over the land surface moves soil particles. It is a natural process often accelerated  under agriculture, especially on cropped land

Deforestation, which is logging or burning forests, is  a way in which humans cause erosion. Removal of the vegetation covering  the ground causes the soil,  which is unprotected against wind and water, to erode. The loss of topsoil essentially destroys  the ability for the land to regenerate
