My name is Anna Bobot. I am the LinkedIn Food and Beverage Program Manager in the Bay Area. As a company, we are aiming towards zero waste. We've partnered with the sustainability team to find ways in which our programs can become more sustainable, whether it's through purchasing or through operations. We came across Eco Refill Systems about a year and a half ago. We heard about it through LinkedIn, actually, and we met with Bernadette and her team to look at the stainless steel containers that they were offering and taste the oils, which I thought was a really nice touch. Our chefs were also part of the process of tasting the oils. Normally, our chefs would order oil every two to three days, and we go through a lot of oil here at LinkedIn. So, it was one opportunity that we discovered we could improve on. When we heard about the stainless steel containers that get refilled, and there's a weekly service that is very hands-on, and they're always available and the quality is there for us, we jumped on it. We know that it’s a big change, so we decided to do a beta test at one café location. We beta tested for about 3 ½ months, which was plenty of time to work out the kinks. Eventually, we decided to roll this out at all six of our cafés in the Bay Area, and it’s been very successful. Our chefs have adapted really well. We’ve come up with safety procedures around how to pour the oil into our fryers, and it’s now become the norm. In six months, we’ve saved half of an NBA court’s worth of plastics and cardboard from going into the landfill.
