By reducing deforestation and boosting tree cover, planting trees can help with SDG 15 but is insufficient on its own. The main causes of deforestation, desertification, and land degradation must be addressed, as well as the promotion of sustainable land use practices, in order to achieve this objective. The preservation of biodiversity, the promotion of sustainable land use, and the protection of ecosystems all require cooperation and partnerships.
