Scene 2 (2m 8s)

[Audio] Today, we will discuss the topic of Eklavya's journey and the story of Eklavya and Dronacharya. Eklavya was a determined young boy who wanted to learn archery from the renowned teacher Dronacharya. However, as Eklavya was from a lower caste, he was turned away since Dronacharya only accepted students from the royal family. Undeterred, Eklavya built a statue of Dronacharya and self-studied in front of it, eventually impressing Dronacharya with his skills. This presented a dilemma for Dronacharya, as he had promised his royal students they would always be the best archers. He asked Eklavya to sacrifice his right thumb to prevent him from surpassing the royal students, which Eklavya did without hesitation. This act of sacrifice has made Eklavya's story an enduring lesson of determination and selflessness. It serves as a reminder that with hard work and determination, anyone can achieve greatness, regardless of their background or circumstances. We hope this presentation has provided a deeper understanding of Eklavya's journey, and we thank the student who submitted this excellent work. Dronacharya, a highly respected and skilled teacher responsible for training both the Pandavas and the Kauravas in warfare, faced a challenging situation when one of his students, Eklavya, demonstrated exceptional skills and was praised by the Kauravas. Feeling threatened by Eklavya's abilities, the Kauravas demanded that Dronacharya do something about it, placing him in a moral conflict between his loyalty to the Pandavas and his responsibility for Eklavya. Dronacharya was forced to make a difficult decision - should he protect the interests of his official students, the Pandavas, or should he acknowledge and encourage the talent of Eklavya?
