[Audio] A brief background of STC Swartkops Terminal (Pty) Ltd (‘STC’) commenced operations in September 2014, operating at the old Swartkops Power Station next to Swartkops River. STC receives bulk manganese export consignments by rail, offloading these trains, stockpiling the manganese and subsequent delivery of the manganese in skips to shipside by road transport. STC is a service provider to Transnet. Through this relationship, Transnet now directs most of the existing manganese mines in the Northern Cape to utilize the services of STC in receiving the arriving trains, stockpiling their contents and subsequent delivery by road to the shipside in Gqeberha..

[Audio] Summary of what we do at STC: The primary activities are shunting rail wagons, tipping rail wagons, conveying tipped manganese via conveyor belts and stacked on a stockpile from the tripper car. We provide specialized logistic solutions for handling, storage of manganese ore and sinter, and loading onto ship on behalf of exporters to Gqeberha and Port of Ngqura Ports..
[Audio] Sub-contractors: All contractors working on site must produce a safety compliance file before commencing work on site. This file will be audited on a monthly basis to ensure continuous compliance. Our safety officers will be able to assist with the index so that you can compile a file that complies with the site-specific requirements. When doing site work, please ensure that you complete a daily risk assessment also known as a DSTI. If any of your emloyees are not medically fit to work, they will not be allowed to work on site..

It is the responsibility of the client and contractors to ensure that all his/her employees have attended the induction session and also are issued with the correct PPE in order to work safely on site..

Before entrance will be granted, security will ask you to identify yourself, which company you are from and which company you are here to for; proof of induction (induction card). 3. Once all is in order, a mandatory alcohol breathalyzer test will be done to ensure that you are not entering the site under the influence of alcohol..
[Audio] Vehicles on site: When entering the site with a vehicle, please ensure that your flashing lights or hazards are on at all times. There is constant movement of people, trucks, mobile machinery and other vehicles on site. Therefore, all vehicle drivers must adhere to the speed restriction of 20km/h when driving on site..
[Audio] Vehicles/machinery operating on site: Do not park in front of the tippler area offices. Do not park underneath or near the conveyor systems. Do not park inside the main stockpile area or the turbine hall. Do not park in the operational road where trucks and machinery operate..
[Audio] PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) Mandatory PPE: Safety boots, hardhat, reflective clothing and dust mask. Employers must assess the work being undertaken and the environment his employees will operate in when determining the appropriate PPE to be work. These must be provided free of any charge to the employee. Main contractors must check that all their sub- contractors are wearing their full required PPE on site..

Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilet. Do not leave the taps running. Please ensure to keep the toilet facilities clean after use..

Do not use the environment as a toilet. Littering can lead to you being fined, disciplinary action taken or future site access denied. Please note that they run silently on the rail. Always be vigilant. In the case where you would like to cross the operational rail line (specifically near the tippler area), please communicate with the shunters before crossing. Once the go ahead has been given, you may cross the rail line in a safe manner..
