[Audio] iRobot is dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure workplace for all employees. In this orientation, we will discuss policies and procedures related to environmental health and safety. Topics covered include employee information and communication, iRobot policies, emergency response and incident reporting, spill clean up, and personal protective equipment. We will also discuss regulatory requirements such as powered industrial trucks, hot work, lock out tag out, working from heights, confined spaces, and hazard communication. This orientation will give you a better understanding of iRobot's commitment to safety. Let's get started..

As such, we have a Substance Abuse Policy & Testing in place to help ensure the safety of our staff and the smooth operation of our company..

[Audio] Housekeeping is essential for organized and safe work practices, such as putting away tools when not in use and avoiding clutter in work areas. This helps prevent slips, trips and falls. Cleaning up after projects is an individual responsibility and should not be delegated to someone else. When working in the iRobot facility, employees should be aware of the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn for certain tasks and ask their supervisor for further instructions..

All iRobot employees and contractors are responsible for general housekeeping Housekeeping is fundamental to good safe work practices Slips, Trips & Falls are often the result of poor housekeeping Be sure to put tools away when not in use, so that they won’t create clutter in the work area Clean up after completion of your project. Never leave a mess behind, or wait for someone else to clean it up

[Audio] At iRobot, we understand the importance of protecting yourself and your co-workers from potential hazards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary to maintain a safe working environment. The requirement for PPE depends on the task at hand. If there is a risk associated with the process or task and it cannot be eliminated, PPE is a must. If you have any questions or doubts about which PPE you should wear, please contact your supervisor and they will provide the necessary information. In the Machine Shop, always wear closed toe shoes, long pants, and safety glasses. When working in the laboratory or handling chemicals, you should also have safety glasses, long pants, and approved safety glasses, face shield, or goggles. At iRobot, we are committed to safety..

[Audio] In the event of an emergency, dialing 911 is the first step to take to ensure everyone's safety. Following that, contact Todd Casparius or John Burns, iRobot’s Emergency Coordinators. After that, if it is a fire emergency, evacuate the building immediately and pull the fire alarm to alert everyone else. Evacuation maps are posted throughout the iRobot facility to help find the closest exits. Once out of the building, gather at the closest assembly point and inform your sponsor that you have safely exited. Do not re-enter the building or leave the assembly point until instructed by an iRobot Emergency Coordinator or Emergency Personnel..

For Medical Emergency ,  First call 911 Then contact an iRobot Emergency Coordinator Todd  Casparius  (617-930-4013) John Burns (617-584-4729) For Fire Emergency,  If you are first to discover a fire,  go to the nearest exit and pull the fire alarm on your way out   Evacuation maps are posted throughout the facility. If you hear an alarm,  exit the building immediately, go to the nearest assembly point  and notify your sponsor that you have made it out of the building Do not re-enter the building until given the ok from emergency personnel.

In the event of an emergency, it is invaluable that employees are aware of their primary and secondary exit routes, as well as the assigned evacuation meeting spot. Exhibit 2 of the Emergency Action Plan outlines the meeting spot at Crosby Drive, Building 16. Your supervisor can provide further information on the evacuation protocols, as it is essential that everyone is aware of them for the safety and security of everyone at iRobot..

There is one evacuation meeting spot outside of the facility. Your supervisor will show you your primary and secondary exit routes and your assigned meeting spot. An image of our meeting spot can also be found in Exhibit 2 of our Emergency Action Plan

[Audio] Should an emergency arise requiring First Aid assistance, alert an iRobot employee who will get in contact with the operator to send the first aid team. iRobot personnel are trained in both First Aid and CPR, as well as equipped with eyewash bottles and other medical supplies to address medical issues. Amidst the beauty of nature, it is important to remember that these resources are available..

If you need first aid assistance notify an iRobot employee near by who will contact the operator and summon the first aid team iRobot has trained personnel in first aid and CPR.  There are eyewash bottles available

[Audio] Committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment, iRobot has implemented a Bloodborne Pathogen Program, or BBP, for our First Aid Team. To ensure safety, only trained and qualified personnel can respond to BBP incidents. First Aid Responders receive regular training in CPR, AED, BBP, and First Aid treatment and have the necessary PPE for safe clean up and decontamination. Documentation and investigation of all BBP incidents is routinely carried out, with the Facilities Department responsible for providing First Aid Responders..

iRobot implements a bloodborne pathogens (BBP) program for its first aid team.  Only trained and qualified personnel may respond to BBP incidents First Aid Responders receive training annually for CPR, AED, BBP, and every three years for First Aid treatment.  First Aid Responders must utilize the proper PPE, clean up and decontamination procedures in response to BBP incidents.  All BBP incidents are documented and investigated  The Facilities Department is responsible for being First Aid Responders

[Audio] Report any EHS incident, injury or near miss that occurs to your supervisor immediately. An Incident Investigation Form needs to be filled out and all those involved must participate in an incident investigation to gain a full understanding of what happened and why it happened. This information can then be used to put corrective action in place to avoid a similar incident from reoccurring in the future. Contractors involved in the incident need to fill out a form and take part in the investigation. Review and sign off by the Emergency Coordinator is required once the form is complete.. 

Scene 10

All EHS incidents resulting in an injury, environmental incident ( e.g  chemical spill) or near miss, should be reported to your supervisor as soon as possible. Any unsafe conditions or behaviors (risk observations) should also be reported. After an incident is reported, an Incident Investigation Form will be completed and those involved will participate in an incident investigation.  if a contractor is involved, they will fill out an investigation form and participate in the investigation This form will help identify the circumstances surrounding the incident and what may have caused the incident.  Often, incident investigations lead to corrective actions to prevent a future incident from reoccurring.  Forms must be reviewed and signed by the Emergency Coordinator

[Audio] At iRobot, we prioritize employee safety. We provide annual training on fire extinguisher use, and maintain precautionary measures to lessen the risk of fire. This includes proper storage of flammables, grounding and bonding of containers, and secure cabinets for compressed gas cylinders. Additionally, we segregate incompatibles and reactives and keep the sprinklers clear of any debris with a minimum of 18 inches of clearance. In the event of a fire, employees are advised to leave the building and remain in a safe area until the professionals arrive. If an employee opts to use a fire extinguisher, they should follow the PASS Model: pull the pin, aim at the base of the fire, squeeze the lever, and sweep from side to side.. 

Scene 11

No one is required to use fire extinguishers at iRobot.  Employees receive annual training on fire extinguisher use

iRobot takes various steps to help prevent the start of fires Flammables must be stored in flammable storage cabinets Cabinets and containers are to be grounded and bonded when needed No storage is allowed on top of cabinets Compressed gas cylinders are always stored in designated cabinets and secured with a chain  Incompatibles and  reactives  are separated Sprinklers must remain clear (at least 18 inches)

Fire Prevention and Fire Extinguisher Use

[Audio] Operating powered industrial trucks is important not only for safety, but also for efficiency. To ensure safety, operators must complete the appropriate training before operating the equipment. For aerial lifts, a pre-start inspection should always be completed and the work area, as well as the equipment, should be checked for potential hazards. Additionally, operators should never step in front of or cut off a powered pallet jack or aerial lift, and should make eye contact to alert the operator of their presence. Following the safety protocols at iRobot will help keep operators and those around them safe..

Operators must be trained before attempting to operate powered pallet jacks and aerial lifts Powered Pallet Jacks 	•   Always check the Pallet Jack (Manual or Electric) to see that it is in good working order 		before attempting to handle a load.  	• Confirm load being lifted is within the capacity limit. Aerial Lifts 	• Complete pre-start inspection 	• Inspect surrounding work areas 	• Confirm load being lifted is within the capacity limit. Never step in front of or cut off a powered pallet jack or aerial lift Make eye contact with powered pallet jack or aerial lift operator whenever working around powered pallet jacks or aerial lifts

[Audio] Safety is iRobot's number one priority and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) is an essential part of that priority, protecting employees and providing a safe working environment. Our LOTO program outlines the specifics of the process, and only Authorized Employees who have completed the training are allowed to carry out LOTO operations. If a piece of machinery is locked out you will be able to identify this with the tag that is placed on the energy source. It is essential to not remove any locks or tags from the equipment..

iRobot has an established a LOTO program.  Only authorized employees who have received Authorized Employee LOTO training can perform Lockout/Tag-out.  Tags are used as a warning system for others in or around the locked out machine.  Never remove a lock or tag from a piece of equipment.

This includes all classifications of a confined space, such as manholes, air handlers and other types. We have evaluated all potential confined spaces to determine their classifications: permit required, non-permit-required, reclassified or designated as an alternate entry space. All permit required confined spaces are labeled with a sizeable warning sign: “DANGER PERMIT-REQUIRED CONFINED SPACE, DO NOT ENTER”. The National Fire Protection Agency 70E outlines practical safety measures to ensure a productive and safe working environment. Employees must report all damaged or faulty electrical equipment, discard any damaged extension cords, and not run cords through walls or over sharp objects. Furthermore, employees must not touch any damaged or exposed wiring, and keep a three feet clearance around all electrical panels or disconnects. Lastly, extension cords are not an alternative to permanent wiring. Let us all work together to maintain a healthy and safe environment at iRobot..

[Audio] Hot work, such as welding, grinding, or cutting, can be potentially hazardous and thus special steps are required to ensure safety. A signed hot work permit must be obtained and visibly posted at the job site for the duration of the work to alert people in the area of the activity occurring. In addition, combustible materials must be inspected and removed or covered to reduce any risk of fire or explosions. Once the hot work is complete, the hot work permit should be returned to the designated individual. Safety is the main priority – following the steps for hot work permits is essential.. 

Scene 17

All hot work (welding, grinding, cutting) requires a signed hot work permit  visibly post the permit at the job site for the duration of the hot work. Inspect the work area for combustible materials and remove or cover any combustible materials in the area.  Return the hot work permit(s) to the facility designated individual after completing the hot work.

[Audio] We are committed to keeping our employees safe in the workplace at iRobot. To meet OSHA regulations, we require fall protection when the potential to fall four feet or more exists. This includes when you are within six feet of an unprotected roof edge, working on an unguarded mezzanine or platform above four feet, or on the roof, ladders, aerial lifts and loading docks. When a personal fall arrest system is used, additional training is necessary. Our Fall Protection Plans provide the guidelines for reducing the risk of falling injuries or incidents if followed with due diligence.. 

Scene 18

iRobot requires use of a fall protection system wherever the potential to fall 4 feet or more exists.  Fall protection is required when you are:   within six feet of an unprotected tank, vessel, pit or roof edge working on an unguarded mezzanine or platform greater than 4 feet above a lower level  Common Fall Hazards at iRobot:  Work on the roof Work on ladders Work on aerial lifts Work at loading docks

[Audio] We take fall protection seriously here at iRobot, so let's review the safety measures that have been put in place. For work less than six feet from an edge, a conventional fall protection system must be used. When work is between six and fifteen feet from an edge, either a conventional fall protection system or a designated area with warning lines can be used - but this is only in cases where the work is both infrequent and temporary. If a designated area is to be used, it is important to mark it with warning lines for it to be effective. Please keep safety at the forefront of your mind..

Work performed less than 6 feet from the unprotected edge requires use of conventional fall protection systems (i.e. guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall protection systems) Work performed 6 feet to less than 15 feet from the unprotected edge requires protecting workers from falling by using:  A conventional fall protection system; or a designated area (with warning lines), but only when the employer is performing work “that is both infrequent and temporary.”

[Audio] At iRobot, we take safety seriously. We understand that working safely is a team effort and that fall protection requirements are essential for roof work. All roof work done 15 feet or more from the unprotected edge must use conventional fall protection systems or a designated area, and a work rule must be implemented prohibiting employees from working within 15 feet or fewer from the unprotected edge without using fall protection. In some cases, where the work is both infrequent and temporary, fall protection may not be required, but the work rule must still be enforced. Let's take our environment and safety responsibilities seriously and make sure everyone gets home safely..

Work performed 15 feet or more from the unprotected edge, requires:  Using a conventional fall protection system or a designated area.  If, however, the work is both infrequent and temporary,  fall protection is not required, but a work rule must be implemented and enforced prohibiting workers  from going within 15 feet of the unprotected edge without using fall protection

[Audio] If you are dealing with a chemical spill, the area must be evacuated and the Emergency Coordinator must be called. Clean up must be done according to those who are trained and certified. Spills of hazardous material can be classified as either Incidental or Emergency. An Incidental spill is limited in quantity and toxicity, and poses no safety or health threat. An Emergency spill may cause high levels of exposures to toxins and dangerous conditions, thus requiring immediate response. After clean up, any waste must be disposed of as hazardous waste.. 

Scene 21

For chemical spills, evacuate the area and call Emergency Coordinator.  Spills may be classified as Incidental or Emergency. The type of spill will trigger a different response.  All waste produced from the cleanup must be disposed of properly as hazardous waste. Only those trained and certified in accordance with 1910.120 may clean up chemical spill.

We take fall protection seriously here at iRobot, so let's review the safety measures that have been put in place

For work less than six feet from an edge, a conventional fall protection system must be used

When work is between six and fifteen feet from an edge, either a conventional fall protection system or a designated area with warning lines can be used - but this is only in cases where the work is both infrequent and temporary

If a designated area is to be used, it is important to mark it with warning lines for it to be effective

We understand that working safely is a team effort and that fall protection requirements are essential for roof work

All roof work done 15 feet or more from the unprotected edge must use conventional fall protection systems or a designated area, and a work rule must be implemented prohibiting employees from working within 15 feet or fewer from the unprotected edge without using fall protection

In some cases, where the work is both infrequent and temporary, fall protection may not be required, but the work rule must still be enforced.

Clean up must be done according to those who are trained and certified

Spills of hazardous material can be classified as either Incidental or Emergency

An Emergency spill may cause high levels of exposures to toxins and dangerous conditions, thus requiring immediate response

After clean up, any waste must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
