WITH PROPER COMMUNICATION:
4 common communication styles:
-Analytical -Intuitive -Functional -Personal
Give facts, in a logical manner. Complete data before expecting a decision.
Use emotional expressions, like “I feel…”, or “I sense that…” Get offended when they don’t want to talk about what they did on the weekend.
Cut to the chase and tell the purpose of the project. Give them a overview, and go to the end. Be prepared for a quick decision.
Start with small talk. Give them a blow-by-blow account (but prepare to answer any questions). Take it personally if their response is blunt.
Be casual; small talk is welcome here! Expect optimism from them. Send emails of the conversation for reference.
Be afraid to use humor. Be curt or short. Restrain them from expressing their emotions and ideas.
Be methodical in how you present your information. Get into the nitty-gritty details. Give them lots of time to make decisions.
Give broad overviews, or skip to the end – they hate that! Come to a meeting with them unprepared.
