Violence in the world

[Audio] In the presentation I will be touching on the topic of domestic violence and talking about how it impacts global health.

[Audio] In the world cases of domestic violence is reported to be almost 2 million each year However the number can be higher then the reported due to victims still trapped , scared to speak out , and unreported to authorities It should also be noted that close to 30% of women ages 15-49 have experienced physical/sexual abuse at some point in their lifetime.

[Audio] Domestic violence is a common conflict that affect family households violence isn't always physical as it can be emotional ,sexual , and psychological based abuse that target predominately women and children as well as elders The picture is an of physical abuse and the outcome done within a relationship.

[Audio] The barriers around violence toward women Violence in different parts of the world toward women impacts global health due to regions cultural practice which include examples of arranged marriages , child marriages , and prisoners of war along with others . Vulnerable populations barrier around women can leave them subjected to decrease chances in the work force as the resources for higher learning is labeled out of reach for women which results to women staying in the house tending to children and other house roles that requires women to rely on the men of the house which only increases the risk of intimate partner violence within familes.

[Audio] the picture depicts an arranged marriage being performed somewhere in the middle east region . Arranged marriage is apart of the middle eastern cultural practice ; marriages are set up by the families of both the bride and groom to protect the bride's family protection , honor of name , and eliminate the bride of being poor . Arranged (forced) marriages can.

Know the signs before it’s too late. Examples of abuse can include : Love bombing Intense controlling behavior Sudden change of emotions Verbal abuse & threats.

[Audio] never feel that your voice does not matter because it does !! By reclaiming the power in your voice from the ones who stripped it by representing a local survivor program near you . Always know that domestic violence matters and that you and others are not alone because its everyone's problem . The topic will never go away unless everyone choses to fix the problem by taking it . The pictures in the presentation are uncomfortable to look at in order to represents the disturbing reality of the forms of domestic violence..
