(Shows an image at the next slide) We can also buy eco-friendly items made from recycled products. The symbol is called Mobius Loop with Percentage which tells you much of it comes from recycled materials. The green seals indicates that a product is eco-friendly. So what is the importance of buying eco-friendly items? Okay Mrs. Baxter. Next is we can reuse items at home like glass food containers into drinking glass or bring them to recycling centers. What’s the importance of this one Mrs. Madayag? Very well Ms. Madayag. (Shows another image at next slide) Another way is by disposing properly of hazardous waste, such as used batteries, empty containers of cleaners, insecticides, paints, automotive fluids and used light bulbs. (Mrs. Baxter raises hand) Sir buying eco-friendly items made from recycled products is crucial for protecting the environment and reducing waste. By choosing these products, consumers contribute to conserving natural resources, reducing energy consumption, and minimizing pollution. Additionally, supporting the use of recycled materials helps to promote a circular economy and encourages sustainable production practices. Sir reusing items at home, like turning glass food containers into drinking glasses or recycling them, reduces waste and supports sustainability..
[Audio] There are three categories of waste: biodegradable non-biodegradable and recyclable. Biodegradable waste is organic waste such as food scraps or yard waste that can decompose naturally. Non-biodegradable waste are materials like plastics and metals that do not break down easily. On the other hand recyclable materials are items that can be processed and reused such as paper plastics glass and metals. The proper use of these bins is very important for waste management recycling environmental sustainability and economic benefits. This helps to separate recyclable materials reduce pollution conserve resources and promote a cleaner and healthier environment. To achieve these goals we should all use these practices in our homes and other places we visit..
[Audio] With the world's environmental crisis deepening it is of vital importance to understand and be able to implement projects and protocols that prevent and manage environmental issues. To do this we must first understand the causes and sources of environmental pollutants and develop necessary preventative measures and actions to tackle these. Additionally we should advocate for policies and practices promoting environmental justice and equity. One example of this is solid waste management which involves segregating different material types collecting and transporting them and disposing or recycling them as needed. A second example is zero waste management focusing on reducing waste generation and encouraging the reuse or repair of existing materials. By understanding both practices we can create a more sustainable future for our planet..
[Audio] This slide focuses on strategies and initiatives for zero waste management and sustainable environments. We are looking at Community Recycling Programs which are organized at the local level to encourage and help with the recycling of waste materials. These programs reduce the amount of landfill waste conserve natural resources and minimize environmental impact. They are supported by those who care about a clean environment and are aimed at encouraging recycling as a habit and contributing to community improvement. Recycling brings many benefits. These include conserving natural resources reducing the need to extract new raw materials and requiring less energy compared to producing new products. Can anyone share any more examples of the benefits we get from recycling?.
[Audio] Recycling is an essential part of protecting our planet. This slide revealed that recycling reduces the necessity for raw components involves lesser energy in its production lowers greenhouse gas emissions and safeguards natural resources such as water and energy utilized in material extraction. Moreover it helps reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions and at the same time preserves wildlife habitats. All of these are crucial elements for keeping our environment safe for future generations..
[Audio] It is clear that the environment is an important factor in our lives. We need to be aware of the consequences of our actions and how it can affect our surroundings. One way to do this is by analyzing the causes and sources of environmental pollutants as well as implementing projects and protocols to prevent and manage environmental issues. We should also advocate for policies and practices that promote environmental justice and equity. Beyond that we can also take part in community action programs which aim to provide services assistance and activities that can improve the skills and abilities of a community. These programs also focus on promoting health and wellness through initiatives such as health screenings wellness workshops and mental health services. I encourage all of you to participate in these kind of programs and make your contribution to protecting the environment and having a healthy and prosperous community..
DON MARIANO MARCOS MEMORIAL STATE UNIVERSITY MID LA UNION CAMPUS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION BACHELOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION How about in school Mrs. Ducusin? Very well class. Any questions regarding community action program? Okay very good. Now let us discuss environmental policies and laws. Any idea or knowledge about this one? Yes Mrs. Romari? Impressive! You’re on point. (Next slide) Mrs. Quiachon, can you read this one? Thank you Mrs. Quiatchon. We have three republic here that aims to promote and protect the global environment. The first one is the republic act 9003, the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 in the Philippines, focuses on promoting sustainable waste management practices to protect the environment and human health. It emphasizes proper solid waste handling, segregation, collection, transport, storage, treatment, and disposal. The law also encourages recycling and the establishment of materials recovery facilities to reduce the volume of waste sent to disposal Implementing green initiatives within your school, such as setting up recycling stations, starting a community garden, organizing waste reduction challenges, or promoting eco-friendly transportation options. None sir. (Romari raises hand) Environmental policies and laws are rules set by governments to protect the environment and public health. They regulate activities to reduce pollution, conserve resources, promote sustainability, and address climate change. These measures are crucial for ensuring a healthy and sustainable planet for future generations. Environmental policies and laws are deemed important to protect the environment and help the people to use the abundant natural resources prudently and wisely. These are binding guidelines to protect every Filipino citizen from harm and diseases brought about by environmental human activities.
