Use Case 1 – Employee Testimonial. Location: RES DFW After 2 weeks of using Upright the user experienced substantial improvement in persistent pain and stiffness. Surgery on spine in November 2020: 3 titanium discs to neck Still battles ongoing stiffness and pain even after surgery. “I am grateful that you all selected me to participate in this challenge. It really is life-changing.”.

Use Case 2 – Employee Testimonial. Location: RES SLC Born with a narrow spine (congenital spinal stenosis) - a life of PT/Chiropractic care, medication, procedures and painful injections for pain relief. “Often times, my sciatic nerve gets compressed, and everything hurts so bad that I usually need a cane to help me walk. When it got bad, I was on a wheelchair until I got surgery. I am 35 years old , never thought I’d need a wheelchair just go move around.” 1-2 Chiropractic visits per week prior to the Challenge. Only once or twice during the challenge. “All in all, its an excellent device. I noticed its harder to have on when I’m stressed with a passenger because I hunch over more. I guess, my emotions can affect my posture, I didn’t understand that until now.”.

Results Conclusion. Upright effectively reduced back pain or discomfort for Delta employees regardless of their job role , department , or working position. Delta challenge participants who initially reported little or no pain experienced improved posture awareness and productivity Participants who trained more minutes reported greater pain reductions and higher scores of posture awareness. Behavior change was observed within the Upright performance data: Upright % Trend continued to improve while the vibration feedback use continued to decline on average. Upright achieved high marks for user satisfaction. Delta employees reported that Upright was easy to use and effective at improving posture and reducing back and neck pain..

What’s Next?. Expand Upright broadly to Delta employees. Consider collaboration with Health Central and VAT. Assess how posture and whole health can be integrated with other health strategies at Delta..
