Obesity has emerged as a major problem in most countries. Countries like Malaysia have identified this problem as one of the burdens in the healthcare system, which is linked to disease-related mortality and high mortality in many private and government hospitals.

Scene 3

OA or degenerative arthritis or joint condition (DJD). The secondary effect of the obesity. Happen in regardless of races. Diagnosed by the X-ray.

Anxiety, lowered self-esteem and more serious disorders such as depression. Originates from societal rejection. Based on the assumption that it is due to the lack of self-discipline. Obese people tend ti have less energy compared to others.

High blood pressure, high LDL cholesterol, diabetes, unhealthy lifestyle, and inactivity physical. Makes the heart function harder to pump oxygen around your body. High blood pressure affects the lining of the arteries, it makes them more vulnerable to plaque buildup, which narrows the arteries and leads to the heart and brain.

Impact of obesity on the musculoskeletal system is associated with osteoarthritis (OA). Body weight influences the severity of OA. Strong association between increasing BMI and surgical replacement of hip and knee joints. obesity-induced OA is also associated with earlier age.

Disease of obesity is associated with a significant psychological effect. Weight loss is typically associated with improvements in psychological status and functioning. Psychological effects of being overweight or obese can include lowered self-esteem and anxiety, and more serious disorders such as depression and eating disorders such as binge eating, bulimia and anorexia.

Most countries including Malaysia should curb the major threat of obesity and its complications among the folk. This is because many chronic diseases are rapidly increasing attributable to obesity such as osteoarthritis, heart disease and stroke. Obesity is not a disease that is hard to avoid, yet it is not a disease that can be taken lightly. Everyone should be responsible for their own health.
