[Audio] The Purpose of this presentation is to convey the importance of the complying with the Federal Regulations on Civil Rights. The content came from the Federal Regulations and Instruction developed by the USDA's Food and Nutrition Service. Some of the topics we'll cover include training on, handling and avoiding complaints of discrimination through quality customer service, providing equal access to limited English proficiency students, and meal modifications for students with disabilities)..

[Audio] Before we begin, we need to clearly define what we mean by "discrimination." Discrimination is defined as: "The act of distinguishing one person or group of persons from others, either intentionally, by neglect, or by the effect of actions or lack of actions based on their protected bases.".
