[Virtual Presenter] Welcome, everyone! We are very pleased to present these instructions on how to reset your company issued device and connect to the Microsoft Government Community Cloud. Let's get started!. 

Scene 1

[Audio] In order to ensure a successful migration to the Microsoft Government Community Cloud High, all company-issued devices must be reset. To help ensure your workstation is secure at all times and meet CMMC standards, please take the time to read through and carefully follow the instructions provided. Your cooperation is essential for successful migration.. 

Scene 2

As you should have heard by now, Copper River is migrating all Microsoft services to the Microsoft Government Community Cloud High (GCC-H). This is being necessitated by CMMC, a new compliance standard affecting ALL contractors supporting DoD contracts.  This marks a monumental shift in how organizations must secure their IT systems and requires significant effort on everyone’s part to ensure we achieve this new standard and continue to work with the DoD. To that end, everyone’s workstation needs to be moved to the new environment manually.  The help desk is here to support you however we ask you make your best effort to complete these instructions prior to reaching out.  We anticipate high call volume but will do everything we can to serve everyone in a timely fashion.

[Audio] In order to reset your device, it is necessary to make sure your device files have been synced to the OneDrive cloud storage. Check the icon in the lower right-hand corner of your task tray for a blue cloud to show that your files are synced and current. This should include your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders. Look for a blue cloud icon in your task tray (lower right). Click on that icon and verify your files are synced, it will say at the top of the menu. OneDrive will sync your Desktop, Documents and Pictures folders.  If you have any issues with this, reach out to the helpdesk at  helpdesk@CopperRiverSS.com  or by phone at 703-234-2740.

[Audio] Shut down the device completely, unplug it from the wall or any other power source, and wait a few seconds. Then plug it back in and power up the device. This will reset the device to the factory setting. Note that this only applies to company issued devices, not personally owned devices..

NOTE: You should only reset your computer if you have a Company issued device! DO NOT reset your personally owned devices!

[Audio] Press the Start (Windows) button in the lower left corner of the device. Type “reset” into the search bar. This should present you with the “Reset this PC” app in a light blue box. Click the app to open it and begin the reset process..

Important:  Please make sure the device is plugged in to prior to completing these instructions. Begin by pressing the Start (Windows) button in the lower left corner and typing “Reset”.  (Note that you can just start typing once you click start, the search box will appear after you start typing.)  This should find the  “Reset this PC”  app shown to the right in the light blue box.  Click to open this application.

[Audio] To reset your company issued device, start by opening the Settings window and clicking the “Update & Security” option. From there, select the “Recovery” option. This will open a new window with the “Reset this PC” option. Click “Get Started” to begin the reset process. A new window will open and have the option to  “Reset this PC”  Click  “Get started”

[Audio] Now that we have reviewed the previous slides, it is time to discuss the process for resetting company devices. Select “Remove everything” from the device's settings. All of your files should be backed up to OneDrive prior. This will ensure they are available in the new environment when the migration is complete..

[Audio] For this next step of the process, you'll need to select "Local Reinstall". Please refer to the visual on the screen for guidance. This will help you reinstall the necessary software on your company-issued device to support the migration..

[Audio] Now that we've reached the device reset section, you'll need to click the 'Next' button in order progress to the following step. It's important to follow the instructions carefully, so be sure to pay attention. When you're ready, click 'Next' and move ahead.. 

Scene 9

[Audio] Click the "Reset" button to reinstall Windows and return the device to an "out of the box" experience. This process usually takes 15 to 20 minutes to finish. After clicking "Reset", the device is now ready to use.. 

Scene 10

Click  “Reset” This will reinstall Windows on the device and take it back to a “out of box” experience.  This process usually takes around 15 – 20 minutes to complete

[Audio] After successfully resetting the device, it is necessary to configure some settings to proceed with the migration process. To begin, select the region “United States” and click “Yes” to continue. This will guarantee that the device is configured to access all the applications and services that the Copper River Family of Companies offers..

Once the device has reset, we will need to configure some basic options to continue the process.  Starting with the region, Select  “United States”  and click  “Yes”

[Audio] On the keyboard layout screen, select US and click Yes. On the second keyboard layout screen, select Skip. This will complete the keyboard layout in the device reset process..

[Audio] Make sure you follow the instructions to set up your device correctly. Start by connecting to your home or office WiFi or using a physical network connection, like an ethernet cable. The licensing agreement will load after a couple of minutes. After that, you can proceed to the next configuration step..

Connect to your home/office  WiFi  or use physical network connection/Ethernet if available

It will take a few moments to load the licensing agreement

[Audio] When the licensing agreement appears on your screen, you will need to click the “Accept” button. Afterwards, select the “Set up for an organization” option and click “Next”. This will complete the set up and allow you to take full advantage of the features of The Copper River Family of Companies..

[Audio] Sign into the Company Microsoft account using your company email address and click "Next". When prompted, enter the new temporary password provided and click "Next". Finally, enter your Company email address again and the new password provided. That completes the setup to reset your company issued device..

[Audio] After setting up Multi-Factor Authentication, click the "Set it up now" button. To verify your identity when logging in, install the Microsoft Authenticator App on your mobile device. After the app is installed, click "Next" to continue with the migration process..

If you have not already done so you will be prompted to setup MFA Click  “Set it up now”

Follow the instructions to install the Microsoft Authenticator App on your mobile device and click  “Next”

[Audio] After going through the authentication steps, it is time to reset your device. Follow the instructions on the authenticator app and computer, clicking next. You will then be taken through the configuration process which is straightforward with the user-friendly prompts. Once all the steps are completed, the device reset process will be finished..

Follow the prompts on the authenticator app and computer. Click  “Next”

Following testing your MFA, Click  “Next”

[Audio] After installing the software, you will be asked to finish setting up MFA. Once you have done so, click "Done". Make sure to keep the default privacy settings and click "Accept" to make sure your device is properly reset and ready for migration..

Complete setup of MFA. Once successful, Click  “Done”

Leave the default settings and Click  “Accept”

[Audio] We are discussing the device reset instructions for the Copper River Family of Companies. On the Preferences screens, all fields should be left blank and "Next" should be clicked. Windows will then boot to the desktop after clicking "Next" on the second screen. To conclude the reset process, the checkbox should be left unchecked and "Done" should be clicked. Following these instructions should successfully configure the device..

Leave unchecked and Click  “Next”   Windows will now boot to the desktop.

[Audio] Once the device reset is complete, the migration to the new management software is nearly finished. Installing programs such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, OpenDNS, and configuring security policies will occur. The entire process should take up to 30 minutes, so it is important to stay connected and sign into OneDrive to access all of your files after the reset is finished.. 

Scene 20

Congratulations! If you made it this far, our new desktop management software should start configuring your computer automatically.  This will include installing common programs like MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, OpenDNS and configuring security policies.  This process can take up to 30 minutes.  Please make sure to sign into OneDrive to access all of your files.
