Our Story. Vernon-Inc was formed in 2008 when owner TL Vernon purchased James Drapery & Blind Service from its founder Tom James. Previously, Mr. James ran his drapery and blind business successfully for 27 years. Once formed, it soon became apparent the business was serving two distinct customers and to better meet growing demand, the company was split into two distinct business units. Company Benefits. Handbook Section 7.0. 401(k) Plan: The Company offers a 401k plan to its eligible full-time employees through Human Interest after completing 90 days of employment. Employees may choose to make salary reduction contributions and Vernon Inc. will match 100% up to 5% of the employee’s paycheck. Bereavement Leave: A full-time employee of the Company may request a leave of absence with pay for a maximum of three (3) consecutive working days upon the death of a member of their immediate family. Paid Time Off (PTO). All employees are eligible to participate in the PTO plan once they complete 90 days. After 90 days PTO will be accrued each pay period. Employees will receive 4.62 hours per paycheck. (26 pay periods x 4.62 PTO hours = 120 PTO hours per year.).
It is the responsibility of all Vernon Inc. employees to maintain a healthy and safe work environment, report any health or safety hazards, and follow the Company health and safety rules.
