Meghalaya Piggery Mission The Society had availed INR 19,55,000/-in both the Breeding and Fattening unit and was fully utilized for the purpose.
NA LA THIAR LIVESTOCK AND ALLIED ACTIVITIES COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD.
Registration No. NONG.23 of 2019-2020 Dated the 21 st January,2020 Address Mawnai Village under Mairang in the Eastern West Khasi Hills District.
Main Objective To undertake Piggery, Poultry and Dairy farming activities in an organized manner To generate income and employment thereby improving the economic conditions of the members in particular and the society as a whole.
Meghalaya Piggery Mission In the year 2020-2021,the cooperative society had availed the interest free loan amounting to INR 19,80,000/- (Rupees Nineteen Lakhs Eighty thousand)only for Breeding and Fattening Unit 50 no's of shed were constructed in the Society’s plot of land while adhesive to the scientific and modern designs and space location for animals.
Working Results 100 no's of pigs and piglets were reared and the sales of these animals are ongoing process Today the Society has immensely growing and generate employment to its members.
THE UMWATONG PIGGERY AND POULTRY FARMING COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD.
Registration No. JWI.40 0f 1996-97 Dated the 04 th June,1996 Location Based in Umwatong Village, Mootyrshiah under the Laskein C & RD Block of West Jaintia Hills District, a distance of about 50kms from Jowai.
Main objective To promote and develop economic, social service through supply of pigs and chicken To generate income and employment to the members in particular and the Society as a whole.
Challenges and Changes At the initial stage of its existence, the cooperative Society had to face many u ps and downs financially, to a point that it had no more business at all up until the year 2003-2004 Under the Chairmanship of Shri Tanly Lapasam along with financial assistance from the Government, the society has been able to start up its business once again from shed construction, purchase of piglets and ultimately selling their produce.
Meghalaya Piggery Mission In 2020-2021, the cooperative society had availed the interest free loan amounting to Rs 11,75,000/-(Rupees Eleven lakhs Seventy five thousand only) for the Breeding unit and Rs 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five lakhs only) for the Fattening units The sheds were constructed in the society’s plot of land while adhering to the scientific and modern designs and space allocation for animals.
Working Results Today the Society has flourished financially and generated employment to its members The society is generating income to the tune of ₹4.5 to 5.0 lakhs per annum through sales of pigs and piglets alone.
