Welcome to the Construction Dynamics Site Induction This induction is important as all sites are different and have a wide range of hazards which will change as the site develops. This induction provides you with information on the current hazards of the site and tells you about the site rules. We plan, manage, conduct and supervise all our work in compliance with legislation and best practice. We want to ensure that all operatives have a clear understanding of their responsibilities along with that of our company..

Induction - Health and Safety - Construction Dynamics are also required to comply with our client’s health and safety guidelines. A copy of these are available if applicable. Construction Dynamics expect all site operatives to work safely and to comply with our health & safety procedures at all times. You are expected to follow the Site Rules (see site noticeboard) and all safety instructions given to you by the Construction Dynamics Site Manager or Project Manager..

Competence Evidence of your skills such as – CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, CPCS You will not be allowed to operate plant or use access equipment without the appropriate proof of competence as approved by the Site Manager..

Induction – General Behaviour - Construction Dynamics expects all site operatives:- To behave in a reasonable and responsible manner at all times. To treat fellow workers, management, client staff and the public with respect at all times. Construction Dynamics will not tolerate any form of discrimination on-site. Induction - Fire - In the event of fire or other emergency, raise the alarm by:- Informing the Construction Dynamics Site Manager immediately Fire Extinguishers are located within the work area. Only use FFE if competent & it is safe to do so. Go to the Assembly Point confirmed by the Site Manager.

DO NOT re-enter unless instructed that it is safe to do so by a member of the Fire & Rescue Service. Be aware of possible ignition sources. Keep the site tidy – less material to burn..

Induction - Asbestos - Construction Dynamics has a copy of the Site Asbestos Refurbishment & Demolition Survey/ Asbestos Register onsite available to review. It is possible that unidentified Asbestos remains within our work area. Please stop work immediately & report anything you suspect may be, or may contain asbestos, to the Site Manager. Construction Dynamics expects all site operatives to have undertaken Asbestos Awareness training..

Induction – Risk Assessments /Method Statements - You must have a suitable Risk Assessment / Method Statement on site for your work. You must sign it before you start. Your Risk Assessment must be site specific and reflect all the risks involved in your work and the controls to combat these. You must be competent to carry out the works and in the use of any necessary plant or equipment. Ensure that you know how to interact with other trades with your work activities. Do not carry out work if you are unsure about any aspect of it or it is not covered in your Safe System of Work (SSoW)..

Induction - Vehicles on Site - If you bring a vehicle on site you must: Comply with the Site Traffic Management Plan. Obey all existing site speed limits Or restrict your speed to 10mph Obey all existing road signage Be aware of pedestrians at all times.

Induction - Parking - Limited parking is available onsite. Otherwise please park pay and display. Please park sensibly. Avoid parking on kerbs or on grassed areas. Access Routes and Emergency Escape Routes must be kept clear at all times. Never use Disabled Parking Bays, even briefly..

Induction - Pedestrian Routes - Only use identified walkways and crossing points. Obey all safety signage. Beware of plant operating near you – if you can’t see the operator – he can’t see you!.

Induction - Signing In & Out - YOU MUST Sign in as you arrive on Site. & YOU MUST Sign out as you leave Site. The Signing in & out system is used to process payroll. You must sign in & out personally We must know when you are on site.

Induction - Toilets - Contractors are authorised to use onsite toilets. Any toilets not signed as ‘Contractors Toilets’ are not to be used. Please ensure ‘Contractors Toilets’ remain clean as they are to be used by everyone. Thank you..

Induction – Personal Protection - Safety Boots and High Visibility vest to be worn at ALL TIMES. Safety Boots must have mid-sole protection. Other PPE, Gloves & Hard Hat, Hearing, Eye protection etc. to be worn when indicated by the Site Manager or by your Risk Assessments. Failure to wear PPE as requested by the Site Manager or your own Risk Assessment may result in you being asked to leave site..

Induction - Drugs & Alcohol - Construction Dynamics Operate a Zero Tolerance Policy DO NOT attend the site under the influence of alcohol or non prescribed drugs. Including the effects of the night before. If the Construction Dynamics Site Manager has reason to suspect you could be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or testing shows that you are, you will be asked to leave site. Construction Dynamics reserve the right to carry out random and targeted testing on operatives..

Induction – Mobile Scaffolds / MEWPs – Wherever reasonable MEWPs or Mobile Scaffolds should be used for Work at Height. If you use a Mobile Scaffold it should be erected by a PASMA qualified operative. You will be asked to produce your PASMA qualification. If you use a MEWP you must have a suitable IPAF card. When using a cherry picker, you must wear a harness with a fixed lanyard..

Induction – Mobile Scaffolds / MEWPs – Use secure platforms with proper edge protection. Protect holes, leading edges and fragile materials. Where the risk assessment requires the use of fall arrest equipment, it must be used with a SSoW including emergency rescue procedures..

Induction – Plant and Equipment – Only competent personnel can operate plant and equipment. You are required to work safely and use plant and equipment correctly. Plant and equipment must be inspected and any defects reported. Avoid reversing on site and / or use a banksman. Ensure that loads are properly slung / secured by a competent slinger..

Induction – Step Ladders – You will require a Permit from the Site Manager. You may only use step ladders for short duration, light work, where a safer alternative is not reasonably practicable. If you do use step ladders they should be used in line with Ladder Association/HSE Guidance document “Safe Use of Ladders and Step Ladders – A brief guide”. You will be asked to justify your use of ladders..

Induction – PAT Testing - Power Tools –110v ALL Portable Power Tools are required to be PAT tested every 3 months in line with HSE Guidance. You will be asked to remove tools from site that do not meet this criteria. DO NOT use untested tools on this site..

Induction – Hot Work – All Hot Works require a Permit including:- Welding, Brazing, Soldering, Grinding, Heat Guns Speak to the Site Manager to get a Hot Works Permit. You will be expected to adhere to the conditions on the Permit at all times. You are responsible for the 1 hour fire watch following your Hot Work Do not carry out Hot Work without a Permit.

Sub-contractors are responsible for their own Materials and for keeping the site tidy. Please store your materials in a safe area - do not leave any materials leaning against walls etc. You must ensure at the end of every shift that there are no materials left in an unsafe manner that if disturbed could cause harm to others. Always clear up your own rubbish..

Induction - Waste – Sub-contractors are responsible for their own Waste and for keeping the site tidy. Remove your waste regularly, either to the site skip, your own vehicle or as requested by the Site Manager. You will be expected to adhere to any recycling procedures the site has in place..

Induction - Waste – Sweeping up To reduce your exposure to dust you MUST vacuum up dust / debris by default. A ‘M’ Class dust extractor should be used as it traps the dust due to having a more efficient filtration system and an anti-clogging function. Sweeping should only be carried out where vacuuming is not practical. If sweeping is carried out, damping with water should employed to reduce dust rising up into the air..

Induction – Smoking - Smoking is not permitted on work sites at any time. Construction Dynamics Site Rules apply to the smoking of E-Cigarettes. Each site will have a designated area where smoking is allowed..

Induction – Accidents / First Aid - If you have an accident, near miss or dangerous occurrence, you must report it and, if required, obtain treatment from the site First Aider:- Name and Mob.
