Ans :  The  term environment has been derived from a French word “ Environia ” means to surround. It refers to both  abiotic  (physical or non-living) and biotic (living) environment. The word environment means surroundings, in which organisms  live.          In short , Environment is the sum total of conditions that surrounds us at a given point of time and space 1.  এনভায়রনমেন্ট শব্দের সংজ্ঞা দাও? পরিবেশ কি? উত্তর: পরিবেশ শব্দটি একটি ফরাসি শব্দ "Environia" থেকে উদ্ভূত হয়েছে যার অর্থ চারপাশ। এটি অবায়োটিক (শারীরিক বা অজীব) এবং জৈব (জীবন্ত) পরিবেশ উভয়কেই বোঝায়। পরিবেশ শব্দের অর্থ পারিপার্শ্বিক, যেখানে জীব বাস করে। সংক্ষেপে, পরিবেশ হল সময় এবং স্থানের একটি নির্দিষ্ট বিন্দুতে আমাদের ঘিরে থাকা অবস্থার সমষ্টি।

2. Components of environment. There are three major components of environment. These are as follows: 1. Physical component. 2. Biological component. 3. Ans : The  physical component refers to the non-living part of the environment. These are also called  abiotic  factors and include air, water, soil, climate etc. Physical components can be broadly classified into 3 groups –  Atmosphere, Hydrosphere and Lithosphere . একটি পরিবেশের ভৌত উপাদান কি কি? উত্তর ভৌত উপাদান বলতে পরিবেশের জীবন্ত অংশকে বোঝায়। এগুলিকে অ্যাবায়োটিক ফ্যাক্টরও বলা হয় এবং এতে বায়ু, জল, মাটি, জলবায়ু ইত্যাদি অন্তর্ভুক্ত রয়েছে৷ ভৌত উপাদানগুলিকে বিস্তৃতভাবে 3টি গ্রুপে শ্রেণীবদ্ধ করা যেতে পারে – বায়ুমণ্ডল, হাইড্রোস্ফিয়ার এবং লিথোস্ফিয়ার

Ans : The  biological component of environment is also termed as biotic  component. Hydrosphere comprises of all forms of water bodies on earth including oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, ponds, streams etc. It covers 70% of earth’s surface. 97.5% of water found on Earth is in the oceans in the form of salt water. Only 2.5 % of water on Earth is freshwater. Out of this, 30.8% is available as groundwater and 68.9% is in frozen forms as in glaciers. Ans : (1 ).  Environmental  education is a process that  allows individuals to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment . As a result, individuals develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and have the skills to make informed and responsible  decisions.       (2).  It  is a  science/education  that will address the biggest challenges encountering the planet in this millennium.
