[Audio] Due to a power grid failure in 2022, two furnaces in KEMYA suffered significant damage in their convection sections, radiant sections, and ID fan areas. This was a unique challenge, as similar damage had never occurred in any of SABIC's affiliates. The high temperatures caused extensive damage to the convection section tubes and refractory walls. Molten materials fell from the top of the convection section, destroying the existing LMPH section. The project required careful planning and execution, as the demolition, reinstallation, and heavy lifting of 750-ton cranes needed to be done in close proximity to nearby running furnaces. Our team successfully executed this critical project within the agreed-upon timeframe. Major activities included removing and reinstalling permanent structural members, engineering and installing temporary supports, demolishing damaged sections, removing and reinstalling damaged fans and stacks, removing molten tubes, revamping the LMPH, and erecting new convection modules weighing 63 tons each..
[Audio] The removal of outlet GAS duct of two convection sections was done for reuse. Four convection section modules were removed, with two parts in each section, totaling four numbers. New convection modules were installed, also totaling four numbers, with two parts in each section, weighing approximately 30 tons each. The total weight of equipment parts replaced was around 120 tons. The project was executed from an elevation of 40 meters to 55 meters. A 750-ton crane was used for convection section replacement, and a 300-ton crane was used for piping replacement. Complex lifting activities involved four crane movements within a 120x120-meter area. New pipe lines were installed, including 12-inch lines from the DMDS area to the PGH convection. Existing pipes of various sizes were removed, and new pipes were supplied, fabricated, painted, tested, and installed according to the new design, covering a total length of 800 meters at an elevation of 40 to 55 meters. The new pipe lines were insulated. Refractory replacement was performed on the reused modules, and civil excavation and foundation works were completed for the DMDS skid. The DMDS skid was installed with a new shelter. A structural frame was supplied, fabricated, galvanized, and installed according to the new design, serving as support for the new pipe lines. Electrical and signal cables were laid from the substation to the PGH convection section, covering a distance of around 300 meters. All related electrical and instrumentation works were completed, and commissioning assistance was provided for the entire project..
