First Aid treatment to be provided by the supports of PM Customer will provider additional First Aiders and First Aid Equipment at key location Accident or Incident scene`s must be made safe and preserved for investigation. Deliberate interference will result in disciplinary action.

[Audio] All Risk Assessments (RAMS) are approved by Mitsubishi Power EMEA. Work orders/ permits issued will be issued to your supervisor. Supervisor will issue work permits to the working party. Working group shall read and sign the RAMS..

[Audio] RAMS documents must be followed at all times. RAMS folders will be stored at the RAMS desk. If you cannot follow controls, or work procedures set out in the RAMS, Stop Work and discuss issue with your supervisor. Do not start work if the area is unsafe! "No job is so important, that it cannot be done safely".

[Audio] Site MANDATORY Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times when on site; Always use additional PPE specified in RAMS, or where site rules require. Ensure the PPE worn is suitable for or each task e.g. Safety Gloves have correct cut rating or impact protection. "Remember PPE is the last line of defence and not the first".

In case of emergency please follow the below instructions: Keep calm, without contributing to increase the panic. Under no circumstances should you put yourself at risk (DO NOT BE A HERO) Stop the work and Leave by nearest exit and follow emergency exit signals/paths. Follow instructions provided by Plant representatives. Make your way to the nearest assembly point. Do not use elevators. Register your presence. Remain at the assembly point until further communication by Plant representative. If your are trained and competent, attempt to extinguish fire, using the equipment available (fire extinguishers, etc.); If your are trained and competent, provide first aid to injured people..

All personnel must receive a site induction (by Customer first & Mitsubishi Power EMEA ) prior to commencing work on site. No induction, no work. Everyone should be aware of RAMS for his tasks Smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking area (outside site office & outside Turbine workshop.) Any person suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to work on site. Work can only be carried out with a valid permit to work. The permit to work is issued by the Plant Welfare arrangements have been provided for your benefit, so please keep facilities clean, in a condition you would like to find them. Horseplay is not allowed on site, as someone could get hurt..

All Riggers & Crane operators Must read and sign Lifting Plans before commencing any lifting activity. Lifting equipment must be signed out/inspected before use. Lifting Plans MUST be followed. Only authorised persons are permitted in a Lifting area. Fixed Barriers or warning tape Must be used at all times. Persons must not stand or pass below suspended loads. All damaged Lifting Equipment must be reported to Mitsubishi Power EMEA management and segregated..

Working at height hierarchy of control: Avoid work at height Perform work from the ground level. Perform work from a constructed platform (scaffolding). Perform the work using a fall prevention equipment/system (safety harness, overhead safety lines, etc.) Always inspect working at height equipment before use. Ensure harnesses are fitted correctly. Ensure lanyards/ inertia reels are fixed to a secured anchor point Damaged PPE must be returned to the stores and preserved. Ladders can be used only to get from one level to another and shall not be used for work purpose unless risk assessment deems it an acceptable risk..

Screens and fire blanket must be used to protect personnel and equipment from sparks, etc. Fire extinguishers shall be available during hot work. Full face shield must be worn during grinding activities. Welding, cutting & brazing are controlled by permit to work system. All hot surfaces shall be covered by fire retardant material sheets. Caution signage shall be used for hot surface after finishing hot work as post weld heat treatment or bolt heating..

Always assume substances are hazardous unless informed otherwise. Where an unknown substance is found always follow the ABC Safety Rule: Avoid all contact and exposure; Back Out and secure the area; Communicate your concern to management immediately. MSDS – Material Safety Data Sheet must be available on site for all chemicals used. All substances must be controlled and placed in a proper storage area. Any substances left over at the end of the shift must return to the storage area. Wear the proper PPE as per MSDS before dealing with any chemicals.

Hexavalent chromium /Chromium VI (Cr6) is a by-product from a chemical reaction between Molycote P37 applied to chromium metal parts exposed to temperatures above 500° which can be found on the surface of hot parts, bolts, and in bolt holes. If a yellow or white residue is found assume it is Chromium VI Chromium VI (Cr6) is Toxic an d Carcinogenic Personnel exposure can be through inhalation, ingestion and absorption Our priority must always be to avoid exposure to Chromium VI.

PPE requirement Disposable Nitrile or chemical resistant gloves Protective disposable coveralls used in the bolt cleaning area RPE requirement Two types of RPE will be used for clean up of Cr6, M3 Half face + P3 Filters – Reusable. Alpha-mesh (orange) FFP3 Filter – Disposable. Both masks offer the same protection factors x20. Workers using a Disposable or half Face Mask must pass a Face Fit Test; Always use the correct specified PPE/ RPE for Cr6 clean up activities and when working inside the bolt cleaning area..

Specified Safe Systems for Clean up of Cr6 must be followed at all times; Identify/ Understand locations of Cr6 substance; Prevention of any Disturbance – Do not use air or pneumatic power tools. Mitsubishi Power EMEA lab has proven that Ascorbic Acid mixed with water neutralises Cr6 to non hazardous substance Chromium (III) Hydroxide. Use approved Cr6 detection test kits to ensure that parts are not contaminated.

Eliminate hazard/ exposure at source: Wear the correct PPE/ RPE during Cr6 clean-up/disassembly Use hand tools for disassembly of contaminated parts; Spray affected area with Ascorbic Acid mix to wet the surface before disassembly – (Cr6 will be Neutralise in less than 2 minutes); Vacuum surface with a hazard vacuum cleaner 99.9% efficiency; Clean Cr6 using wetted (Ascorbic Acid mix) scotch brite pads, rags and wash tank - (Ascorbic Acid mix 2 days shelf life); If contact skin remove any affected clothing & wash affected area of skin All contaminated equipment and materials used in the removal of a Cr (VI) compound shall always be bagged and clearly labelled and be placed in an area designated by the customer..

All portable electrical Tools/ Equipment must be PAT(Portable appliance testing) tested. Visually inspect equipment prior to use. All faulty/ defective equipment must be taken out service. Repairs only carried out by a qualified competent electrician. Persons working on Electrical systems must check the following: A work permit has been issued and is correct. Key Electrical systems being worked on have been isolated (LOTO procedure) before starting work. Do Not Work on Live Power Tools/ Electrical Systems..

Hearing damage is attributed to exposure to high noise levels at work, which is permanent (incurable) and seen as a hidden danger. Hearing protection will be made available on request. Hearing protection must be worn when: Nose levels are identified at 85dB or above. Designated hearing protection zones. A specified control measure, identified by risk assessment..

Always ensure that your work area is tidy and free from any waste. Waste containers are provided on site for disposal of waste materials. Keep walkways free of debris, cords, cables and storage items. Clean up oil, water and grease on floors immediately. Report all slips, trips and falls, with or without injury, so the hazard can be corrected. Remove any cords or cables in walking areas. Organize cables under desks..

Our goals, are to reduce, reuse or recycle all waste produced where practicable. Everyone has a responsibility to: To Correctly dispose of all waste in bags/ bins/ skips provided. To avoid overloading or cross contaminate bags/ bins/ skips. All waste should be disposed of in the correct skips Under no circumstances shall liquid waste, such as paints or solvents, be allowed to soak into the ground or be poured down drains. This is “hazardous waste” and should be disposed of in line with current legislation..

Personnel shall report any environmental incidents immediately to his supervisor through the agreed communication route. If an environmental incident occurs, e.g. leakage, spillage of oils, chemicals, hazardous substances etc., immediately contact Mitsubishi Power EMEA OPM/PM or the control room ;be prepared to give the following Information: The location and type of incident Details of any casualties Substances involved and quantities. Your telephone number and your name. Where possible the chemical spillage should be isolated and contained at source, and prevented from spreading into the surrounding work areas or entering into water drainage..

Clean Condition Overalls must be worn before entry permitted. All tools and parts must be recorded before entry. Any tools, parts, or materials dropped in the machine must be reported to the supervisor and recorded in drop list. All ingress points must be covered/ blanked off during disassembly works..
