WHAT IS HEREDITY? Heredity is the mechanism by which characteristics, resemblances, and differences are passed down from one generation to the next. Gene is the unit of heredity. Genetics is the study of heredity in biology. It is als o called as Inheritance of traits and characteristics from parents..

The shape of the nails is a good example of how genetics in terms of fingernails has been passed on. In my family, my father and I have the same shape nails whereas my brother has a very different and unique shape which is not there for any of us. This represents the formation of new character when the parent DNA splits

The shape of the ears is also a genetically passing trait. In my family, all of us have non-attached ear lobes which is also a sign of inheritance.

Handlines are very famously known for showing signs of our future. When they look similar it is also a sign of heredity. In my family, my brother and my father have completely identical handlines whereas I and my mother have the same lines. This also helps us in understanding that handlines have been showing a sign of inheritance from our ancestors.

I would like to conclude  that the inheritance of characteristics and traits has always helped people identify  themselves and their families.
