We also have some basic rules about what we call personal protective equipment, or P-P-E--. In most areas, you need to wear things like hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots. There are some exceptions, but generally, sleeveless shirts and shorts are not okay. When you're doing certain jobs, like welding or working with chemicals, you'll need to wear special gear like face shields and goggles. And remember, cell phones can only be used for business purposes while you're on our property, never while operating equipment that's moving. Finally, if you're working at heights, you'll need to wear a body harness and lanyard. That's it..

Drugs, Alcohol & Firearms Illegal drugs, alcohol and firearms are prohibited at this facility. Persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol are not permitted on company property.    Standard PPE Hard hats, safety glasses, hi-visibility vests and steel toed boots or equivalent are standard PPE requirements in all areas except offices, lunchrooms, and other exempt areas. Sleeveless shirts and shorts are not permitted. Hard hats must be worn with the bill facing forward unless actively engaged in a task that requires it to be worn backwards. Other PPE  Face shields and eye protection shall be worn when performing welding, cutting, grinding or jackhammering, air & water lancing, clearing material from air slides and ports, working with chemicals (refer to SDS),  or any other process where an eye injury is imminent. Goggles shall be worn where there is a danger of eye injury when performing work inside dust collectors, clinker coolers, silos, vacuum truck hoppers, or other areas. Cell Phone Usage All cell phone use should only be due to BUSINESS NECESSITY while on company property and NEVER while behind the controls of equipment that is in motion. Respiratory Protection Respirators shall be worn in posted areas. Always wear the proper respiratory protection for the work being performed.  Fall Protection A body harness and lanyards are required when working from elevated positions where there is a danger of falling (100% tie-off required). Examples include, man-lifts, crane baskets, forklift baskets, scaffolding, or any other elevated position where handrails are not present.
