INTRODUCTION. 1. OUR GROUP MEMBERS SURVEY ON FACE MASK.

Page 4 (1m 20s)

INTRODUCTION. 129 billion masks are thrown away each month. Majority of these masks contain polymers or plastic compounds. Therefore, the widespread use of face masks quickly produces millions of tonnes of plastic garbage for the environment. Disposable masks, which are primarily made of polypropylene, eventually degrade into microplastics, which frequently find their way into rivers and the ocean and can harm aquatic life. We collectively made the decision to create a biodegradable mask to solve this issue..

PROBLEM STATEMENT. Microplastics Abundance in Eastern Tropical Pacific 600 500 400 300 200 100 Year 2008 2020 2030 264.1 2050 520.1 2100.

PROBLEM STATEMENT. Microplastics, which are very tiny pieces of plastic, are produced during the manufacturing of commercial products and during the decomposition of larger plastics. Microplastics pose a threat to both the environment and animal health as a pollutant..

OUR SOLUTION. 1.The first step is to make banana fibres made from the banana leaves using a hand scraping method..

THE BANANA LEAF FACE MASK. Banana fiber will be fully waxed using vegetable wax for protection.

Mask is made up with 100% organic materials. Avoid Micro-plastic pollution which is a huge plastic waste remains on land and marine in the form of mask waste. We can lead a healthy lifestyle because In laboratory experiments, it has been shown that microplastics can cause harm to human cells, including allergic reactions and cell death. Can protect creatures such as birds. This is because we can overcome the problem where birds get entangled in the ear loops of the mask..

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. We would like to convey our heartfelt gratitude to our teacher advisor, Pn. Kaladevi a/p Kanagaratnam, for providing invaluable support to us. We would also like to thank each of the members for putting their hearts and souls in this project. The old adage “teamwork makes dreamwork” has never been more accurate. Our sacrifices and the passage time have enabled us to complete this endeavor. We wholeheartedly concur that moral assistance is just as critical to finishing a task as physical help. My teammates and I are grateful to our school, SMK Aminuddin Baki, for organising this Project-Based Learning(PBL) competition ..

Learned how to work together in a team We also have rationalise today’s problem and had given a better solution to overcome the major problems. We are grateful to be able to work in groups with full cooperation and tolerance with each other. Importance of saving the Earth Learned about ways to overcome micro-plastic pollution.
