[Audio] Welcome everyone! Today, I will be discussing the results of a study conducted by Rowaida Magdy 10A on the atomic radius trend. Rowaida examined the effects of moving from left to right across a period and going down a group on the atomic radius. Through her research, she found some interesting results that I will be discussing in this presentation. So let's take a look!.
[Audio] Rowaida Magdy 10A conducted a study on the Atomic Radius trend of the periodic table. Atomic radius is the distance from an element's atomic nucleus to its outermost electrons. The results of the study indicate that the atomic radius generally decreases while moving from left to right across a period and increases while moving down a group. This is due to the strong attraction force and increasing energy levels, resulting in the atomic radius being inversely proportional when moving from left to right and directly proportional when moving from up to down..
