Scene 4 (30s)

In this portafolio, I will review all the work and investigation made for my art project, where the main objective was to build the colombian sign language alphabet as a group.

NUSCLES Of

Study 1

During this task we had to make an initial research with videos and web pages on the muscles of the face and the neck, as an approach to the topic.

Process

I found this part of the activity easy and fun: after the research , we had to color two images (front and profile) with some muscles of the face and the neck. These are some pictures and videos from my process, investigation and result.

Scene 9 (1m 47s)

Objective

Searching about the muscles of the hand to get familiar with them for the final drawing

Process

We had to make an individual research about this topic and try to draw the hand with its muscles. For this, I used different web pages and videos. Additionally, the biology teacher gave us a small lessons to understand the functioning of each muscle and its importance.

Scene 12 (2m 28s)

The aim of this study was to make an experimentation of colors with two different techniques: oil pastels and watercolors . I chose to work with oil pastels, by following a video that showed different ways to mix colors using this technique. I found the combination of colors a bit hard, but this was my final result.

Steam project

Part of this project was made in collaboration with chemistry class. We had to make a research on the chemical compounds found in the painting technique we used, more specifically, in pigments. By doing so, I learned more of the components of oil pastels (my technique) and how they have been used to produce art all over history. This is my poster with all the information gathered:

Scene 15 (4m 8s)

Before being able to draw the final result, we had to practice drawing the hand with its different positions. This was the video we used as a reference to draw

Scene 16 (4m 25s)

I found the video really easy to follow since it used geometrical shapes to make an initial sketch, later they drew the fingers and made some shades, to give the hands a 3D aspect. Moreover, this practice was really useful to sketch my final drawing

Planification

Building the colombian sign language alphabet as a group

Objective

Firstly, we divided the alphabet so that each girl would draw one letter or position

Step 1

Using all the information and abilities gathered, we started to make sketches of our hands

Step 2

After being able to draw the hand, we sketch the muscles

Step 3

Coloring the hand with its muscles

Step 4

When all the letters are drawn, we will hang them in the school as a small museum

Final product

Scene 19 (5m 19s)

1 - Decide on which letter to draw based on the alphabet. I chose the “i” 2 - Draw a sketch of the position 3 - Sketch the muscles seen in that position. For this I used a web page that showed a 3D hand with its muscles, so I changed the position in order to check which muscles were seen in my hand. In addition, I drew the bones of the fingers to guide myself.

Scene 20 (5m 46s)

Process

4 - Color the muscles using the technique chosen (oil pastels) 5- Color the rest of the hand and add some shades 6- Make some final details, like drawing the nails or draw other muscles 7 - Finish the hand / position / letter
