In an Automobile Batteries have to cater to various Electrical loads and the
most important role is to start the engine.

To Start the Engine – Starter Motor cranking


As a stabilizer to maintain the Voltage across the circuit, when

there are shortfall due to excess loads / lower output of the magneto.

As a back up power when the Magneto / Alternator fails.

The ability of a fully charged battery to deliver a specified quantity of electricity,
at a given rate, over a definite period of time. The capacity of a battery depends
upon a number of factors such as active material weight, density of the active
material, adhesion of the active material to the grid, number, design &
dimensions of the plates, plate spacing, design of separators, specific gravity &
quantity of available electrolyte, grid alloys, final limiting voltage, discharge
rate, temperature, internal & external resistance, age & life span of the battery.

Capacity of a battery varies with the rate of discharge (current), Higher the 
current, lower is the capacity

The amount of current a battery can produce for 30 sec. At -18°C before its 
voltage drops below 7.2 Volts (1.2 V per cell)

Use Multimeter/Midtronics Tester and check
Open Circuit Voltage (OCV)

Voltage > 12.5V - Battery is fully charged.

Voltage >12.2V  <12.5V - Battery  is partially 
discharged needs freshening charge.

Voltage < 12.2V - Battery is discharged and 
requires full re-charging.

on every ARKOS battery specifies the total number of months covered by the
free replacement period and the Pro-Rata period for batteries fitted in two-
wheelers.
In all cases the warranty is applicable from the date of sale to the original
purchaser.
For a battery being replaced on Free of Cost basis the warranty
commences from the date of sale of the original battery as stated in the
original Warranty Card and not from the date of replacement given.
For batteries purchased on pro-rata warranty settlement discount, a
fresh warranty is applicable from the date of purchase..
