Animal Welfare: Everyone’s Responsibility.
[Audio] Animal abuse is still a global problem, despite it having been said that treating animals with kindness and respect is not only a moral obligation, but also a reflection of our own humanity. Let us take a closer look at this issue as we move on to the next slide..
[Audio] Animal cruelty is an issue we must not overlook. It is present everywhere and countless animals of all kinds suffer due to human acts of neglect, exploitation or mistreatment. We have a moral duty to take care of all living entities, regardless of species. Everyone should speak out against animal abuse and make sure that all creatures are given humane treatment and respect. Animals are conscious beings and deserve our protection. We must never forget that..
[Audio] Everyone has a duty to look after animals, and that means understanding what is and isn't acceptable when it comes to how we interact with them. Hitting, kicking, choking, burning or cutting an animal unless it is for medical purposes by an experienced vet is classed as physical abuse, and should never be used when training animals. Neglect is just as bad and involves not providing animals with things they need, such as food, drink, shelter, exercise or medical care. Let's all take responsibility for the well-being of animals and make sure every animal has all that they need and are treated with respect..
[Audio] Animals have been part of human life for thousands of years, and during this time we have developed various ways of caring for them. It is our duty to ensure that animals in our care are treated with respect, compassion, and empathy. Everyone has the power to influence the way animals are treated, and the best way to start is by being conscious of our own actions. If we all do our part, we can create a society where animal welfare is part of everyday life..
[Audio] It is everyone's responsibility to protect animal welfare. In June 2023, Chongqing's metropolitan area will be introducing three laws to safeguard pet dogs: registration, microchipping, and annual vaccinations. As pet owners, we should do our best to guarantee their safety and well-being, and these laws can be of great help. Let us be proactive and make sure that our furry friends have all the care they need..
[Audio] As dog owners, we need to make sure we are responsible in taking care of our furry friends. Taking your dog on daily morning and evening walks is a great way to ensure they are getting enough exercise. Training and socialisation with people and other animals is an important part of responsible ownership. It's also important to make sure they are getting the nutritious food they need as well as making sure they have the necessary medical care and treatments. Your pup needs a bed, collar and leash, and toys to play with. You also need to be able to provide for them in case of emergency or when going on vacation. With all of this in mind, it is clear that animal welfare is everyone's responsibility..
[Audio] It is everyone’s duty to look after animals. A great way to do this is to adopt a pet. Rather than purchasing one from a pet store, adopting a pet from a shelter or a rescue group is more beneficial. This ensures that the pet is safe and taken care of in a good home. Adopting a pet will not only help the animal but also will be beneficial for you. So, it is encouraged to adopt instead of buying a pet from a pet store..
[Audio] Animals have been our loyal companions for centuries, and with that, we have a great responsibility to ensure their welfare is taken care of. Unfortunately, the vast majority of puppies and kittens in pet shops come from 'puppy mills', which are breeding facilities that are solely focused on profit and neglected animal welfare. The conditions in these facilities can be dire, with overcrowding, over-breeding and unsanitary conditions, leaving the animals in a vulnerable state. This can lead to severe health problems in puppies or kittens, which often go undetected and are denied to potential buyers. Thankfully, there are MILLIONS of cats and dogs in animal shelters around the world desperate to find loving homes. Why not consider one of these shelter babies for your next companion? All they need is a little bit of patience, affection and love, and in return you'll get their undying loyalty and unconditional love..
[Audio] Animal welfare is an important issue that affects us all. Certain breeds of dogs are not suitable for small living spaces, as they tend to be very active and need a lot of stimulation. For example, Alaskan Malamute, Husky, Golden Retriever and Labrador, all of which are known for their strong work and digging instinct, as well as for their loud 'wailing' if they are bored. Dogs like Dalmatian, Rottweiler, Cane Corso, Mastiff, Pitbull, Bloodhound and German Shepherd also require a lot of exercise and stimulation, as well as plenty of space. Even Weimaraners, which is a gentle giant, may intimidate its neighbours due to its large size. Furthermore, some of these breeds can be aggressive towards other dogs if not taken care of properly. It is our responsibility to ensure the welfare of our four-legged friends, and it starts with making sure that we provide them with the right environment they need to thrive..
[Audio] Animal welfare is an issue that should be taken seriously by all of us. Every day in Xiao Qi's Animal Shelters in Chongqing, we find many animal breeds in need of a home. These animals are in desperate need of our help, and the citizens of Chongqing have the power to make a change and protect them. We can use our knowledge to better understand the breed preferences of the people in Chongqing, so we can better provide for those animals in need. Together, let's make sure that all animals have a chance to find their way to a loving home..

[Audio] Animals are living beings that require and deserve our respect and protection. We have a responsibility to ensure their well-being. To help protect animals, the most important thing we can do is to get people informed about animal welfare. Words are not enough, we need to take action. As a start, adopt a pet instead of buying one from a store. This will provide a home to stray animals. When deciding to bring a pet to our family, it is essential to consider the commitment that comes with it. A pet is not a toy but a companion and a family member. If animal abuse is spotted, we must speak up for them as animals cannot defend themselves. Let us all take part in protecting animal welfare and be their superheroes..
[Audio] Animal welfare is an important issue concerning humans and animals alike. It involves the ethical, physical and psychological wellbeing of animals used for human purposes such as production and entertainment. We have a responsibility to ensure that animals get the care and respect they deserve. There are some particularly shocking examples of animal welfare, like puppy mills and pet shops, circuses with animals, animal tourism, zoos with caged animals, live animal trading, horse and greyhound racing, physical punishment of animals, tying or chaining dogs up, buying a puppy or kitten for fun, and petting zoos in shopping malls. These activities are unacceptable and damage animal wellbeing. We must take action to stop them and make sure all animals are respected..
[Audio] We, as consumers, must take responsibility for the consequences of our choices on the world. In order to ensure this, it is essential to ask questions such as: What are the origins of my food? What repercussions does factory farming have on the environment? Are my lifestyle and consumption choices ethical? Are pets respected in my local community? And are animals treated properly in my nation? Pondering these questions will assist us in ensuring that we are doing our part for animal welfare..
[Audio] Ensuring animal welfare is a responsibility that must be shared by us all. Xiao Qi's Shelter strives to provide a safe haven for animals, and they are thankful for the backing of those who made it possible. Any of us can help ensure that animals are treated with the respect and care they merit, from making certain that no animal was made to suffer in order to produce any product we buy, to dedicating our time to volunteer..
